Today is my good friend Brian McKenna’s 55th birthday, and he is a big Clutch fan. Happy Birthday Brian! I have known him for 35 years- where does the time go?
Clutch are a pretty jammy band, so you get some sets where they are on, and some where they are mere mortals. In my (humble) opinion, they were “on” at this show, big time. I literally fell asleep during the only other time I saw them (Psycho fest 2019). The bass mix was super heavy here so I had to boost the guitars in izotope to make them audible. I think the fat mix helps a band like this a lot- you can feel the groove. I enjoyed the set quite a bit. We had to bail during the end of the last song to make it to Anthrax in time.
