G.B.H.- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca. 5/29/18 5 Cam Multicam with Soundboard Audio GBH

G.B.H. came through town last month and they were really great. I have seen them twice over the past year and they really bring the energy, 40 years in. The video turned out great- thanks to Agelos for the edit, to JT for the soundboard mix, to Zoran for telling me that someone crowdsurfed into a G30 so I could fix it quickly, to Brian McKenna for securing permission that afternoon, and to Jim McLain for sharing his pole mount/bungee idea with me. Harlow’s & Thee Parkside are the best places for the pole mounts!

Setting Sons- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca 5/29/18 Canon HFG40 Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

Ah, I just woke up at 5:30 and got ready for my 6am conference call… to find out it was cancelled. D’oh! That means morning videos for you. Setting Sons opened the GBH show on Tuesday. I had not heard them and was not planning on filming them, but Sean Hills let me know that I should film, and members were moving away so their next show was unscheduled at this time… so here you go. Good old UK punk style, and a nice cover of Teenage Kicks.

Monster Squad- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca 5/29/18 Canon HFG40 Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

There were a lot of people at the show who came to see Monster Squad- and I can see why. Their drummer is amazing, and the guitar interplay is rare in a punk/hardcore band. Very unique.
This was their record release show for their new album “Depression”.

Damn, it sounded good in the club. Thanks JT!

The Posies- Harlows, Sacramento Ca. 5/22/18 Live 5 Camera Multicam Seattle

The Posies came to Sac last year on their 25th anniversary of “Frosting on the Beater” tour. The show was criminally under attended. There was maybe 50 people in there, it was embarrassing. The show started so early- I got there at 7 and the opener was already playing. I think the Posies went on at 8. GREAT show despite all of that.
Sorry about the less than stellar audio on this one- we were trying to swing an audio matrix and it would not align.
Someone please let Ryan Reliable know this exists, he is a fan but not on the internet.

Monks of Doom- Ivy Room, Albany Ca. 5/20/18 Multicamera with Matrix Audio

Man, I can’t believe it has been almost 2 years since I last saw MoD. Time flies. For some reason, my gopro that was on David’s side of the stage decided to not work. I thought it would affect the edit a lot, but it isn’t too bad.

Audio: Neumann KM140 pair at FoH + 2x Neumann KM143 on stage, Sound Devices MixPre6, WAV @24/48

The Monks Of Doom: The Make-Out Room San Francisco, CA 5/19/18 Multicam

I can’t remember why, but I was tied up with something and I left for the show late. Parking around the makeout room is a huge pain in the ass, so I stressed out while trying to park for 20min or so. I walked a couple of blocks with my equipment and talk to Victor- they are going on in 10 minutes. So I scrambled to get my stuff set up- so glad I made it- this is a great set. They were totally on that night.
