Dead Dads- Colonial Cafe, Sacramento 11/17/18 Closing Night

Last night was closing night of the cafe colonial, and it was PACKED. I got to the cafe late as usual and had to park way out there as the lot was full. I missed the first song of Dead Dads’ set. The crowd went crazy for them- it was really cool to see. For not really being a band, they were pretty tight. Cory lost his voice earlier in the day, but he sounded normal.
I need to apologize to Jim McLain- I tried to squeeze next to the wall and get out of the way of his camera, but I think I obstructed his angle. Sorry about that. Jim was a warrior this weekend and filmed all of the bands on friday and saturday. That’s something like 25 bands or so!

The Strange Party- Colonial Cafe, Sacramento Ca. 9/17/16 4 Camera Multicam

Man, this video is excellent. I have not been shy about my love for The Strange Party- I think they are the best small band in Sacramento right now. This video is a collaboration with me and Jim McLain. Jim supplied 2 of the camera angles, and I supplied 2 angles. Jim also brightened the gopro angle from behind the drummer, which really helps to improve these colonial videos. Audio is great, and I think that Strange Party as a 3 piece is better than the old version. No offense intended to Jordan (former bass player), but this lineup requires Justin (bass/vocals) to focus and he sounds WAY better. Thanks to Agelos for the killer edit job. This video has been on my hard drive for 2 days and every time I come back to post it, I end up watching it for 20min!

Dead Dads- Colonial Cafe, Sacramento Ca. 3 Camera Multicam 9/16/16 Last Show!

Here’s another favorite local band- Dead Dads doing their last show ever. Joe McKinney was moving to OR and Lys was supposed to move to GA, so this was their last show. Good video- the audio is a little distorted, I think I was a little too close to the PA. The new gopro worked great since Lys is such an animated drummer- thanks to Jim McLain for the help to brighten that angle. Huge thanks to Agelos for the edit, and for supporting the Sacramento punk scene from halfway across the globe.

Sacto Storytellers- Colonial Cafe, Sacramento Ca. 8/27/16 Part 1 Canon HFG30 & Rode

Here are the great Sacto Storytellers from day 1 of the Colonial Fest. Day 2 is going on RIGHT NOW- tons of bands for the low price of $10 all day today. Please come on out and support the venue and the bands. PBR is only $3 on tap, all day everyday. Compare that to $6 at GAMH when I saw Belly on Friday…. Sacto Storytellers is Kenny Beasley & co’s Rocksteady band. They are excellent! Kenny is also in hardcore band Pressure Point & was the Guitar/vocalist in Sins of the Flesh back in the 80s. Enjoy.
