Little Tents- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 1/28/17 Part 1 Canon HFG30 and Rode VP Stereo Mic

I don’t know if you heard the news, but Little Tents is playing again tonight at Café Colonial! Get your butts over there! I will probably try to show up as well. This was a good show. The only downside was that Lemuria brought their own soundboard and Little Tents did not really get a chance to soundcheck, so the vocals are buried. Adam’s drums sound HUGE though.

I am really going to miss this band. This was billed as their last show ever, but they ended up playing a couple of days later at the café. I severely sprained my ankle so I could not walk/drive, so I missed the last last show. This one is a 4 camera job- HFG10 right next to stage (pointed up at Audrey), HFG30 (full stage angle), HFG30 (me shooting on a monopod) and a gopro hero4 silver behind Adam the drummer. Huge thanks to Agelos for the edit and to Jim McLain for helping brighten the gopro angle- it was the first time using the camera and I had no idea what I was doing. Thanks to AJ for the nice mix.

Hey, look at what I found! This is why I am enjoying this whole “on this date in history” thing. I filmed part of a Little Tents show and never posted it.
If you haven’t heard them, they were a great but short-lived band consisting of members from Mad Judy, Dead dads, CHRCH, xtomhanx, and many more. Check out their CD for some great indie emo type of stuff.

Lys went on to join Sad Girlz Club and is currently playing with new band Half Pint w/members of Lightweight. Audrey went on to play in Mallard, I don’t know what Jordan is doing now and Adam fell off the face of the earth.

This was back when my kids were little, so I would put them to bed and race to the shows. Apparently, I got to this one late as you can see me turn on the camera mid-set. Maybe that’s why I didn’t post it.

Little Tents- Concerts in the Park, Sacramento Ca. 6/10/16 #CIP2016 Pt. 1

I wanted to wait until we had better audio for this one, but I will post it again once we are able to mix the soundboard with this mic. Little Tents are playing their second to last show EVER tonight at Starlite. You need to go. Here is their appearance at concerts in the park this year. Sorry the audio is not as good as others- in short, I blew it. They were great as always. One of the best bands in sac right now. Unfortunately, they did not turn on the lower mains so you get very little vocals on the video. Check their EP posted in comments for good quality audio of them

It’s an all-Sacramento day here! For today’s On This Date in history, I decided to finally give this Little Tents video from 2016 the proper treatment.

Man, I loved this band. Such a great indie/emo band. They were only around for a year or so- first show on the archive is 11/4/15, last on is 1/29/17. So 15ish months.

The board tape on this was odd- it was very heavy on drums and light on guitar. I went ahead and boosted the guitar and let the vocals be slightly buried. When I tried to bump up vocals, it sounded lousy in Izotope. This is as good as it’s gonna get.

Little Tents- Press Club, Sacramento 11/4/15 HFG30 & Rode Video pro mic

Little Tents are a Sacramento “supergroup” of sorts, with 2 drummers in other bands(Audrey from mad judy and Lys from dead dads) playing guitar and singing. Bass is Jordan from Mad Judy, and Drums is Adam Anthro. I was shocked the first time I heard the band- the songs are very well crafted and melodic, with short bursts of scream/noise mixed in. Very unique and intense. One of the best new bands to come out of Sacramento. The video turned out pretty good- I was shooting on a dark stage, behind the PA and you can still see the band and hear vocals. I call that a success. They played this show as part of Danny Secretion’s cancer benefit. Thanks for making it happen, Danny!
