Janis Ian- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 6/28/95 xfer from DAT Master Coresound Mics

So I had jokingly mentioned that I typically post content that does not get many views on Monday, so I could call it “Mediocre Monday” where I post not-so-great or obscure recordings. I think I’ll do Mediocre Monday from here on out.
I had thought that this one turned out kinda lousy, but it sounded way better than I remembered… so much for Mediocre Monday today I suppose. My other 2 recordings sound much better though, and you can hear the between song dialog much better there. I’ll get those up one day.
If you are wondering why I am posting a Janis Ian show, it’s because I like her music a lot.

Equipment used: Sony TCD-D7 and Coresound mics with battery box bass roloff

Luna- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca. 7/13/94 Direct transfer from Hi8 Master!

Well, I wish I had an interesting anecdote about this show, but all I recall is that Dean allowed me to shoot from the balcony which is reserved for bands, and that he was very gracious. Otherwise, I’ve got nothing. I am sure it was a good show, but coming off the casbah show the night before meant about 3 hours sleep for me, then this show. Enjoy! Filmed with Sony TR81 and stock mic. Check out the raging seated dinner theater crowd.

Arlo Guthrie- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 3/24/94 xfer from DAT Master Live Complete Show

The coach house was a strange place. The entrance looks like the photo here, then you go down an entry hallway to the right, and there is the venue. It was a sit-down dinner type of thing, so it was always really hard to tape with people constantly hovering over you. I had recalled this tape being pretty awful but I just spot checked and it doesn’t suck. I’m sad that Arlo hung it up recently, but I got to see him a few times in the mid-90s and it was always a good time.

Audio Live Concert

Luna- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 11/4/92 Hi8 Master xfer Enhanced w/DAT Audio Galaxie 500

Here is a show that I posted before, but it was the raw hi8 tape with the camera’s audio. This time, I took the superior DAT audio and synched it up with Pluraleyes 4. plus, I cleaned up what little grain there was in Adobe Elements/Neat Video.
Unfortunately, my DAT battery decided to croak on me about 10min into the show, so this version is only 24min long- the first 10 and last 15min of the show. I will also post the full enhanced version of the show with camera audio in a bit.

Luna- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 11/4/92 Hi8 Master Live Video xfer Enhanced

I am going to try to post a 4k video from last night’s show, but it shows “processing HD version” 8 hours into the upload, so it may be late. Here is an early “bonus post” of a Luna show I taped back in 1992. This is the 3rd and last version I am posting. This is the complete show with the stock camera audio, enhanced to remove the graininess. Enjoy!

Chris Isaak- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 6/24/89 lossless xfer from 8mm master tape enhanced

Here is the last Chris Isaak video from Laurie Vilarich’s estate, and this one is the best in my opinion. Laurie set up in the upstairs area- I have been up there and it is a great place to video. Complete show (over 2 hours) and sound isn’t awful. Good stuff. Thanks Laurie.
