Galaxy Trio- Portland, Or. Mid-90s Opening for Helios Creed xfer from 8mm master enhanced

It’s mediocre Monday, on a holiday week!
This one is mediocre due to its length. Only 2 and a half minutes. The venue was super dark- I cranked the brightness and contrast for this enhancement so you can at least see it. Glad that Craig captured these guys so much- love the surf space rock.

It’s Monday again. I don’t have anything prepared that fits the bill for Mediocre Monday, so you get this one. A portion of an undated Galaxy Trio show from La Luna. This one is nice- lighting is good. Galaxy Trio are usually playing the small dark bars.

Galaxy Trio- Lost Forest, Portland? Mid-1990s xfer from master videotape Space Surf Rock Estrus

A while back, I was given a box of 8mm master videotapes to transfer. Thanks to the kindness of the taper, they are being posted for everyone to enjoy. They are almost all from the northwest and mostly northwest bands.
The first one is a surf-rock band from Bellingham Wa who released a few records on Estrus in the mid 90s.
Many of these tapes are not clearly labeled. This one says “lost forest” under Galaxy Trio, so I assume that is the venue. Has anyone heard of a venue named Lost Forest from the mid-90s in OR/WA?

Galaxy Trio- Satyricon, Portland Or. 1995 xfer from master videotape with Sam Henry

Here is another cool Galaxy Trio video from Craig Babb’s collection of master tapes. This one features Sam Henry on keyboards for the last minute of the video. Sam was a legendary drummer- starting with The Wipers in the late 70s, to Napalm Beach in the 80s, through many great punk/surf bands up to 2022. Sam was on tour with Jenny Don’t and the Spurs in late January when he fell ill. Doctors discovered that he had cancer, and he passed away on Sunday. What a terrible, sudden shock- I will add a link to the Gofundme to help his family in comments.

Galaxy Trio- Spook-a-Rama, Bellingham Wa. 10/29/94 xfer from 8mm master enhanced

Here is a fun one from Craig Babb. I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing his recollection of the show:
“This was on my 30th birthday, a legendary show! At a
bowling alley in Bellingham. I didn’t get much band footage, but the lineup was Poison 13 reunion, The Makers, Satan’s Pilgrims, Galaxy Trio. An Estrus records showcase, and one of my greatest shows ever!”
I think this is only the Galaxy Trio set, it sure looks and sounds like them.

Here is another one from Craig Babb’s seemingly endless supply of master videos. There are still more to post, including a Cheezy Trolls one that people were asking about!
Anyway, this is from Max’s. I asked Craig about a date and he did not recall, so “mid-90s” it is.

Galaxy Trio- 1201 Club, Portland Or. 1994 xfer from 8mm master tape Enhanced Space Surf Rock

Since a lot of people will be watching the pregame at the time that I usually post, here’s an early one today. This may be the very last one from Craig Babb’s collection. It took a couple years for me to digitize and post. Thanks Craig for your patience- it was a fun project!
This one is short so you can substitute it for whatever the SB halftime show is this year.

Galaxy Trio- La Luna, Portland Or 1994 or 1996 xfer from master video tape Enhanced Space Surf Rock

Here is a nice quality video from Craig Babb’s collection- Galaxy Trio, opening for Dick Dale at La Luna in Portland Or. We don’t know the exact date, Craig thinks it is from around 1995.. and a quick setlist.fm and concert poster search shows that he played there in 1994 and 1996. Please let me know if you know which show Galaxy Trio opened.

Sorry for the late post today. Work has been hellish. Here’s yet another cool video from 25-plus years ago, courtesy of Craig Babb. All of these Galaxy Trio shows have made me a fan. Special appearance by tricky dick.
