Near Beer- 7th Street Station, Reno Nv. 7/14/22 4K UHD Single Camera Version Henry Clay People

One of my favorite bands over the past 15 years has been Henry Clay People. They put out a slew of great albums, even recording the last one in Sacramento. Near Beer features 2 members from HCP, including Joey Siara on guitar and lead vocals. This was enough to get me (and Anonymous) to drive 2 hours each way on a weeknight to see them play a house show in Reno.
Tim Wainer is a longtime friend who we met through the postcardfromhell email list- he has put on shows at his house for the past 10(?) years. The room is about 12×12- if you want an intimate show, this is the place to be. In fact, Craig Finn from The Hold Steady is playing there soon.
It was great meeting the band- I got to talk to Joey for a bit- and the whole show had a great, laid back, house party vibe. Nice meeting Gia as well- we have a bunch of mutual friends and loved her Request Video cable show when I lived in Whittier in the 90s.
This is 1 camera of 3 that I crammed into that tiny room. I know the drum cam came out ok, I am not sure if I can salvage the Joey Cam. If so, there will be a 3 cam edit of this one.

Carcass- Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 HD Master Live

Carcass played right after Triumph of Death. I don’t know if it was my excitement & anticipation for ToD or what, but I lost interest pretty early on during the set. I hope it isn’t too obvious in the video. The lighting made it a challenge to see and to keep focus.

The Misfits-Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 4k UHD Master Live

So this guy named “frenchonionsoupandkittylitter” dropped this video on me today. It looks like he filmed The Misfits’ entire 85 minute set from this past weekend in 4K UHD! The first few minutes are a bit rough, but once he settles down, this could be the best misfits reunion vid out there. This was definitely not a cell phone vid- it is done with a camera that has a killer zoom capability- possibly a Lumix ZS70.

This one is for Kevin Seconds because I know he is a HUGE FAN.

Thanks FOSAKL!

Triumph of Death (Hellhammer)- Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Ctr, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 4k UHD

When I saw that Tom G Warrior announced a Hellhammer performance in France, I figured I would never get to see it… then I missed the announcement that they were playing Psycho Fest. I found out only when some random guy commented on a Ron Quintana post.. so thanks!
I have not been this excited for a show in a long time, and it was awesome. The bass drums were a little heavy in the mix early in the set, which caused my camera to have an odd “wobble” effect. It gets better a few minutes in. Sorry for the focus issues- this stage is so big (bigger than most clubs I film in), that I would lose focus from one side to the other.

Against Me! – Punk Rock Bowling, Las Vegas NV 5/26/14 Live HD Master Recording Canon HFG10 Rode VPS

Here is yet another installment of the “going through lists and posting uncirculated stuff” project. The only time I went to Punk Rock Bowling was in 2014- I went to the Skate Punk Reunion on Saurday, then to some of the PRB shows on Sunday/Monday. I was doing double duty with family vacation so I did not see as many PRB bands as I would have liked, but it was still a good time.
This one turned out pretty nice for as far back as I was standing. It sounds great!

OFF! – Punk Rock Bowling Fest, Las Vegas NV 5/26/14 HD Master Rode VideoMic Pro Stereo Keith Morris

What a weekend this was. I did a family weekend, plus I hit 3 days of music festivals. I did not sleep much that weekend. I remembered that it was hotter than hell, but I guess it was “only: 104 degrees when OFF! played. It felt like it was 120. Good set- this was my first time seeing them.

Johnny Rad & the Eggplants- Skate Punk Vol 2 Reunion, Las Vegas NV. 5/24/14 Live Mulitcam Sbd

This is the only set of the day where the soundboard mix is decent enough to use. I don’t see any multicam videos of them on youtube, so this may be a rare treat.

Watermarked so that dick head over at “skate rock” youtube channel can’t rip it from youtube, apply some effect and repost. Please don’t steal my videos. Thanks.

Minus One- Skate Punk Reunion, Las Vegas Nv. 5/24/14 Quasi Multicam Live

Here is a newly edited video for you. Only the first 10 minutes is multicam on this one, and then it moves to the stationary camera in the back. By the time Minus One came on, I was totally drained. I flew in with my family the day before. We hit the pool right when we arrived(side note- don’t EVER take your 3 year old to the MGM grand pool. People making out and beer bongs going on while we try to navigate the lazy river), then I was up until 3am at the Naked Raygun PRB afterhours show. Then up for the 3 year old’s wakeup time (7am?) and more swimming, then over to the TWELVE HOUR long show. This was toward the end of it. I could not hold the camera up anymore. I got 10 minutes of the set from the stage and had a rest.

Dephinger- Skate Punk Vol 1 Reunion, Las Vegas Nv. 5/24/14 Multicam with soundboard audio Scottsdale

If I remember correctly, Dephinger were the first band to play the reunion show, and they were definitely entertaining! After the show, they were giving me the hard sell on a split 7″ with JFA. I think they were trying to get gas money to get back to Arizona.
PS: They might have been on drugs. Judge from the first song and the look on their faces. 🙂
