Man, these guys blew me away. Melodic punk from France with gritty vocals performed with extremely high energy. I can’t recall anyone moving around on the cafe’s stage like that. Most of these songs are from their latest LP “La Nausee”

Last but not least, here is Hotbods’ set from Sunday’s show. I found it funny that the headliner(they played last) had the shortest set. This is the first time I have seen them since their first show over a year ago- they have such great songs. There’s a lot going on in there if you listen.

Arms Aloft was the band I was looking forward to seeing the most on Sunday. Check out their bandcamp- good songs with Micah Schnabel style vocals. They were the loudest band I have ever heard at the Cafe- the dummer’s snare was SO LOUD that the rest of the band had to compete for volume. My poor hearos earplugs did not help much. Glad it sounds OK here.

I was so lucky to see such a KILLER show at Cafe Colonial on Sunday night. More people need to come out and see what is happening at the Cafe. Great food, great bands in an intimate venue.
First up was Las Pulgas. I had heard a buzz about the band but wow. Intense, angry surfy punk with political & relevant lyrics. They don’t only sing about issues, they are organizing & doing something about them too. Be sure to check them out when they play next. They recently recorded with Patrick Hills so we should be hearing some studio output soon.
PS: Sorry about the audio quality early on. I had not filmed anything in a month and I forgot how the audio recording levels looked on my camera’s screen, so I panicked for no reason. D’oh.
