Knockoffs- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca 11/30/23 4K UHD Multicam with Matrix Audio

These next 2 video posts will not look like one of the usual 4k multicams that we do. I filmed with 1 camera (G60) and 3 gopro’s on stage, then handed them over to Jim McLain to edit an HD multicam from all of his & my angles. My G60 angle is more of an isolation shot, so I don’t have a 4k angle that shows the entire stage like I typically have… so you will see a lot of closeups and gopro angles in this one. Bobby knocked over the gopro on his side like immediately, so it’s just one gopro on Danny, one on Bear, and my iso shot. Thanks to Tromster for making it work in the edit. If you want the full multicam edit in HD, head over to McLain’s channel. If you want 4K, here it is. 🙂
And a call back to the Go National post earlier this week, The Knockoffs do my favorite Go National song- Aqua Dirty. I had not seen them do this since 2000!

Danny Reynoso- Holy Diver, Sacramento Ca. 10/5/21 Solo set with The Knockoffs, Secretions Songs GH5S

First off, here is a PSA for you- you will want to either subscribe to the http://www.sacramentomusicarchive.com website email alerts list, or join the sacramento music archive facebook group. Just today, one of our friends posted a Misfits set from Aftershock this past weekend. You’re not going to hear about it on the 3 cameras and a microphone YT channel, so go check it out there!
So, what does this have to do with my good friend Danny? He opened for Bobby Steele’s (Misfits) band The Undead solo back in 2018. In fact, I think this show and the 2018 show may be the only ones he has done solo.
Fun set which includes choice covers and some songs from his bands. The biggest crowd reaction came during “3 Chords and a F*ck You” (Secretions), which was cool to see. Man, their popularity has endured.

The Knockoffs- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 1/25/20 4K UHD Live Video with Improved Matrix Audio

Welp, I wrote a somewhat long intro to this video in reference to our current events.. but I just erased it. Please take care of yourselves, love and watch out for one another. This is all so tragic.

Anyway, here is a new version of a video I posted a few months ago. My good friend “Anonymous” took soundboard audio and matrixed it with his schoeps microphone recording. The result is far superior than my room mic. And it’s one of the best bands in town, The Knockoffs!

Knockoffs- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 5/6/16 Part 1 Canon HFG30 and Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

Well, I uploaded this to youtube 3 weeks ago and forgot I did it, then just wasted 3 hours uploading it again. Duh. This show was great because there was this overzealous “fan” who was swinging her budweiser bottle around, soaking people with beer. Then she tried to start a pit without regard for others and was running into everyone. Words were exchanged, and she left. The whole thing was just odd, but memorable. Great set by the knockoffs- the first half of this show (pre-bud mosher) was the tightest I had ever heard them. I guess playing all those new songs over and over in the studio doesn’t hurt. 🙂

Knockoffs- Blue Lamp. Sacramento Ca. 4/7/16 4 camera Multicam! Sacramento Punk

I realized that we had never done a proper multicam of one of my favorite sacramento bands since the 90’s. Here you go- opening for 7 seconds. 2 Canon HFG10 and 2 HFG30. Edited by Agelos. You will see multicams from this night for bastards of young and 7 seconds soon as well.

Knockoffs- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 4/22/15 Multicam with Rode Audio!

Hi, Everyone is at the big Secretions show and I’m home, celebrating my son’s 1st birthday. He is taking a walk, so I had time to upload a video. I have not been posting much lately, as I have been moving the music archive into a shed in the backyard. Pics will follow, as soon as it is cleaned up and organized! Anyway, this is a killer knockoffs show, opening a show at the blue lamp. I cannot remember who headlined this one. The audio turned out great for it being just an audience mic. Filmed with 2 canon HFG10 and 1 Canon HFG30 w/rode video pro stereo mic.

Tom Hutchison- Shine, Sacramento Ca 1/3/14 Digital Master Rec Knockoffs Captain 9s Knickerbocker Tri

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to see Tom do a rare acoustic set, opening for Kepi Ghoulie and Kevin Seconds. Features a nice mix of Knockoffs and Captain 9s songs. Unfortunately, I had hoped to plug into the mixing board so I did not bring my mics, so I had to use the PCM-M10’s internal mics. It’s not bad quality.

The Knockoffs- Old Ironsides, Sacramento 8/24/13 20th Anniversary show HD Master Live

Thanks to one of the band members for asking about this- I thought it was posted years ago. This was about 1 month before I got my first pro camera, so this looks and sounds decent, but it is a bit grainy. I think I audio recorded the show as well- I will need to check.
Anyway, this is such a great show- this was the band’s first show back after many years, and it was their 20th anniversary show. Lots of special guests: Tim White! Rochelle Sparman! Ted Angel! We even get a rare “close but no cigar” with Tim.
Jim Mclain- were you there? This may be a good one that we can work on as a multicam.

The Knockoffs- Old Ironsides, Sacramento Ca. 8/24/13 2 camera multicam Matrix audio Sacramento Punk

After posting this one at Tom’s request, Jim Mclain reminded me that he was filming that night as well. I handed my footage over to him and he edited the 2 angles together and even matrixed the audio- my camera audio is in 1 channel and his is in the other. It works out great as mine was vocal heavy and he picked up more guitars. Thanks Jim!
