1984 is Sothira & Jimmy from the classic Crucifix lineup in the 80’s, along with guys from the hardcore band Side Effects filling out the lineup. This was their first show back and it was intense! The poor guys running the club never knew what hit them. In a club in west Oakland. Thanks for Dan Hashthrash for going with me to ensure I did not get killed, and to Agelos, Bong, and Yannis for all of ther editing & synch work. I think Bong did ALL the work on this one.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday today, and that you are happy and healthy. I debated posting anything today, but why break the streak now? Here is a set from Diatribe at Manic Relapse. It is a 30 year set- not sure if that meant a reunion or just a set with older tracks but here you go.

Here is a set from NYC D-Beat punks Nomad. I don’t know how often they toured out to California, but I don’t recall them playing in our area since this show.

I’m late today- work has been unrelenting, plus kids are not schooling. So things are even busier than usual. In fact, my 5 year old is watching me type this!

Here is a perfect video to describe my mood today, as I am having a rotten fux’ing work day.
At least I think that is the band here- they were listed on the flyer as the band in this slot. They don’t announce their name, they appear to be missing a band member and call for him while dawdling on stage, then play for 5 minutes.
Perfect.

I am digging up all of my old multicam footage from Manic Relapse and there were 2 bands who I shot with 1 camera only, but never posted. Here is the first- Resist and Exist. The funny thing is, I ended up seeing them open for 1984 again at the Observatory in Santa Ana in June of ’14… then never again.
