Exodus- Ruthie’s Inn, Berkeley Ca 5/26/84 xfer from master audio cassette Thrash Metal

Back to Doug’s collection for Monday. I always find Exodus very motivating when I have the morning or Monday blahs. This is another one of those killer pre-Bonded by Blood shows that has them playing most of the forthcoming album along with a few earlier songs. Along with almost all of BBB, you get Hell’s Breath, Death Row and Die By His Hand. This has to be one of the last times that DBHH is played. They pretty much quit performing it after part of it was pilfered for the bridge in Creeping Death.

Slayer- Stone, San Francisco Ca 5/24/84 xfer from master audio cassette Thrash Metal

It’s Tour Manager Doug Tuesday! This tape is one of the best quality recordings from his collection, if not THE best one. I don’t know how he was able to get such amazing results from that walkman- all of the instruments are clear and have a good amount of separation, including the bass. I didn’t have to do anything to this tape- this is how it sounded, right off the playback. Thanks Doug!
Anybody know what happened to Roxz (pictured in the ad)? No releases on discogs, never heard of ’em.

Slayer- Keystone, Berkeley Ca 5/23/84 xfer from master audio cassette Thrash Metal

It’s Tour Manager Doug Tuesday! There were no TM Doug Slayer posts last week, for the first time in a while. Here’s one that appears uncirculated- it’s not on youtube, not on setlist.fm. I know one of the old school guys will chime in and say “I had it in the 80s, man”. So I guess I mean “uncirculated outside of the OG thrash traders”
I did my best with the EQ, there was no bass at all in the recording!

7 Seconds- On Broadway, San Francisco, 5/5/84 xfer from audio cassette punk hardcore

First off, this is a photo of 7 Seconds at The Vats in SF from 6/5/84. This show is not from the vats- the tape was labeled as “SF 6/2/84”. I thought it was from the Vats, but then after listening closely, they say that they are playing the vats TOMORROW and Ruthies later tomorrow night. I then researched a bit online and Metallipromo (usually a good site for info) has the Vats/Ruthie’s shows on May 6, and a show at the On Broadway the day before, on May 5. I am assuming that this is the On Broadway 5/5/84 show, even though the tape says differently.
This comes from Wayne Vanderkuil’s collection. This time around, I pulled everything with Mark Martin’s writing on it and checked it against my list. As I mentioned before, I got my start taping and trading through Mark. I would borrow his tape recorder and then when he got out of tape trading, he basically gave me about 200-300 tapes to get started. He kept quite a few tapes(which are now gone) so that’s why I am doing this cross check. So this one is ? source to Mark Martin to Wayne.
I found a flyer to the actual show that I will add in the facebook comments.

I want to extend a big thank you and welcome to Brook Shattuck to the archive. He has been posting photos and flyers to facebook and he has given the OK to add them here. Any documentation before 1985 in Sac is like gold- very little existed before Brook started sharing recently. Thank you!

We’ll be posting one
