Four Eyes- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento 2/23/25 4K UHD Multicam w/Schoeps Audio

It was 11:59pm when I started this post, so I still made it for Sunday’s video post! I had a long day and forgot to post the daily thing from the collections. It’s not great timing to post while everyone is sleeping. Nobody watches. At least I am only short changing myself (and the Four Eyes) and none of the awesome collections I have here.
So this will be the last post from this show. The 3 openers only. BJE is coming back in about a month, so let’s try to get something post-worthy this time around.
This was a funny one- the band was sitting at the bar, waiting to play. The soundman was waiting at the board for the band. There were threats of sets being cut short, but they got their full 30 minutes in.

Lokeigh- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/23/25 4K UHD w/ Soundboard Audio Folk Punk

Wow, I am over 3 months behind in posting master videos.. and I did a ton in April and May. They will all come as soon as we can get them done. Stay tuned.

Lokeigh was one of the opening acts at the Cafe Colonial show. Lokeigh is the stage name/persona of Tyler Ferris Masteller, formerly of I Kill Cameron and also in Dandelion Massacre.

Since Tyler is a solo artist, I usually only shoot one camera or audio only, to not ruin the intimate setting. I did away with the 5 camera angles so you only get this one. Unfortunately, my battery died and I feebly fumbled with my bag forever trying to find a fresh one. I missed about 5 minutes of the show. Sorry about that.

Knockoffs- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/23/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Scheops Audio Punk Live Full Show

Welp. What a day. Got rear ended while stopped and turning left at a stoplight a couple hours ago, then I came home and realized that my computer is kinda messed up. I mounted a mac hard drive to my windows PC and my RAID drive letters changed as a result, which seems to have broken at least 1 of my programs (Adobe Premiere/neat video). Time for a new install, I suppose.

Instead of the planned Chris Eng post which needs Adobe, let’s post this one in honor of Bobby Jordan. Bobby is the bass player in the Knockoffs and a bunch of other Sacramento area bands. A little over a week ago, 7 Seconds contacted him and asked him to learn an hour long set of songs. They had 1 rehearsal and then played 2 shows over the weekend. He was awesome. The Harlow’s show was probably the best 7 seconds show I have seen in person since 1986. Great crowd.

Anyway, The Knockoffs played Cafe Colonial a few months ago and were great. I have been a fan for over 25 years- glad they are still playing shows.

Generacion Suicida- Cafe Colonial Sacramento 2/17/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Schoeps audio Complete Show

I saw Generacion Suicida once by accident in 2017- they opened the Proletariat show at Black Lodge in Seattle- and they blew me away. The crowd loved them too- it was packed in there.
So when I saw they were playing a headlining show at the cafe, I couldn’t miss it. Wow, have they grown as a band since 2017- playing the most intense post-punk I have ever heard. One of the best shows I have seen at the cafe.

False Flowers- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/17/25 4K UHD Multicam Schoeps Audio RAD Whiskey Rebels

Since it is a Friday, you get a second video today. That’s right, TWO videos!
False Flowers is a new band who opened the great Build Us Airplanes/Generacion Suicida show at the Cafe last month.
The band is kind of an all-star cast of Sacramento’s punk scene. Brian Hanover (Whiskey Rebels, Hanover Saints, Union Hearts, etc) plays guitar and (I think) is the main songwriter, Lory Gil and Craig (from RAD and Sick Burn) on Vocals and Drums, and Conrad Melancon on bass.
Posy-punk awesomeness. Check it out, and then check them out at the Cafe tomorrow night with Visions from Portland and Killer Couture.

Build Us Airplanes- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/16/25 4K Multicam w/ Schoeps Audio Monster Squad

Alright, I need to hurry up, so here is an early Saturday video post. Build Us Airplanes is a pretty unique sounding indie-punk band with some members of Monster Squad. The recently released a new LP “All Things Expire” after a 10+ year break. They occupied the middle slot in that stacked False Flowers/Generacion Suicida show.

Ultrafiend- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/2/25 4K UHD Horror Punk Debut Show

Here is the last in the series of the Local Show backlog- you will still see stuff I filmed at the regularly scheduled interval, haha.
This band opened the Slamtaro show about a week back. It was their first show, and what a nice surprise. To my knowledge, we have not had a horror punk band in Sac since Strange Party called it quits about 5 years ago. Good songs, vocalist can actually sing, I’m all in. I will definitely make an effort to see the band again.
I didn’t even realize my friend Penelope was in the band because it was so dark back there. She came up to say hi after the show and that was a nice surprise.

Oh, and it took me about 30 seconds to fix my recording levels so stick with it.

Slamtaro- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento 2/2/25 4K Complete Show Schoeps Saxophone Powerviolence Hamtaro

Alright, here is a video that is WAY more entertaining than that snooze of a super bowl game. Last weekend, I went to see my friend Charlie’s band called Slamtaro. I had heard his band Anime Aliens before, so I was kinda expecting something in that vein. Um, no. This was the most insane sh*t I have ever seen. I was wondering what the hell I got myself into about 10 minutes into the set. Just watch/listen. The mics are high quality- all of that distortion was coming from the stage. Oh, there is bass and drums too.

Bi Score- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 2/2/25 4K Complete Schoeps Audio Video Game Soundtrack Live

Back to more recent master videos. This was the surprise of the year. Not only does this band play their favorite video game soundtrack/scores, but they also show the actual game being played on the screen next to them! It was really great- sounded great and was entertaining. I don’t recall everything they performed, but I did hear them mention Robocop and Pokemon… maybe final fantasy as well?
Sorry for the somewhat distant view, but I figured showing the screen as they played was more important than my typical closeups.
