Screeching Weasel- Punk in the Park, Cow Palace,San Francisco Ca 5/3/25 4K UHD Schoeps Audio Partial

I figured I would post a little sample of what’s coming- thanks to Shawn (RKL TM), I was granted not only an all access pass to the show, but artist parking! I was stoked to pull right up to the entrance, park, and walk in. Thanks Shawn!

I was able to video all bands on the main stage starting with RKL. RKL through SW were with 2 cameras. I was getting low on batteries so Pennywise had 1 cam. There is also multitrack audio for some of the bands which may get used, if ok. My friend Guerin also video’d, so who knows.. maybe more cameras can be edited.

Since it is somewhere between 1-2TB of data, I am still trying to get all of the video off of SD cards and onto the RAID. I figured I would give a little taste of the middle of the set here while I work through all this.

Screeching Weasel- Punk in the Park, Cow Palace, Daly City Ca 5/3/25 4K Multicam w/Multitrack Audio

Here’s one from my collection tonight. I posted a portion of the show from one angle right after the show back in May, but I finally got the audio mixed and both angles edited, thanks to my friends.

When I mixed the multitrack audio, it sounded really great in my (nice) studio headphones. Now that I listen to it on the big stereo speakers, the bass drum sounds distractingly loud. If it sucks, let me know. I can re-do it.

Screeching Weasel- Ice House Saloon, Reno Nv 4/12/93 xfer from master VHS-C Tape Enhanced Punk

We have been reserving Wednesdays for Arica Pelino’s collection, and it sure has been fun sharing her audio & video tapes. I loved one comment last week, after we shared those 2 PHGP videos: “it’s punk Christmas”. Ha ha, well Santa is back.
We posted a Screeching Weasel show from Gilman in April a while back- Arica also traveled to Reno to see their show a couple days later, and it looks fantastic! Thanks again Arica- I think we all owe her dinner or something.

Screeching Weasel- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 4/10/93 xfer from master VHSC Tape Enhanced Punk

Wow, it must be Pop Punk Day- Arica asked me to post this one from her tapes today, and I just happen to be listening to a Green Day board tape from Eggplant’s collection (from about a month after this) while working over here. Woo hoo!
Anyway, Arica filmed this one herself with her VHSC camcorder back in ’93. I don’t see this online anywhere, so not sure if it has ever been seen before.

Screeching Weasel- Maxwell’s, Hoboken NJ 3/18/93 xfer from VHS tape

I had a few options for today’s On This Day in History, but this one looks good enough. It’s from Jim Utz’ collection. It might be worth re-transferring this one and doing the lossless xfer/denoise/upscale. Jim, do you remember who you got this from? It doesn’t seem to be online anywhere. Actually, I wonder who did all of those late 80s Maxwell’s videos. I have never seen even a 1st gen surface.

Screeching Weasel- Circuits, Chicago Il 12/4/92 xfer f/1st gen VHS tape Enhanced Ramones Cover Set

Thanks to Mike Byrne for more info on this show. His brother Bob filmed this. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“33 years ago (1992, the show was 21 & over)My brother went and videotaped the show. This is right around the time that Screeching Weasel started to get really popular. A month before this show they almost sold out McGregors. The Methadones were supposed to open but ended up not playing (This was 8 years before I would join the band). Weasel played the entire Ramones debut album along with a song or two off of other Ramones albums (I Don’t Care and I Wanna Be Sedated) and two Weasel songs (Mary Was A Anarchist and Slogans).”

I did my best to brighten this up and denoise it, but it would look a lot better once a lossless transfer from the master happens.
