Huge thanks to Ken Doose for sending his collection my way- he taped quite a few things (audio and video) that I had no idea existed! Ken is one of the OG sac tapers/collectors, haha.
Anyway, Raw Power headlined the Press Club back in 2000. It was a stacked bill and a ton of people came out. This one turned out pretty good- the picture was a bit snowy (old camera technology), but the denoise cleaned things up nicely.

Here is a video from Ken Doose’s collection. It seems to have some audio/video synch issues. I think I will finally get some time to deal with that next week. Tongue has a very detailed bio on disogs- check out Tongue (6) if you are interested. They toured with a bunch of bands including Raw Power on this run.

Let’s do the collections post first today because a) it’s a really cool one and b) on this date isn’t ready yet.
This one comes from Ken Doose’s collection. It was shot with one of those cameras that produces a nice picture but has a ton of grain/snow. Neat video cleared almost all of that noise up pretty nicely.
Pressure Point was formed in the mid-90s and were together for about a decade. This was Kenny Beasley’s band after Sins of the Flesh, Filibuster, and Deep Six; and before Sac Storytellers.. with a few I am sure I missed in between.

Not a show addition but this had to be posted here – Sacramento official hands over the key to Sacramento to the band during a set at the Memorial Auditorium, on behalf of then-mayor Jimmie R. Yee
Lots of artists go through the acoustic “treatment” – so did Deftones while promoting the “White Pony” album. One of those tracks ended up getting released by the band as well

Another late collections post- sorry about that. I am stretched pretty thin over the holidays, and especially when kids are out of school.
I found this one while I was looking through Dennis Newhall’s audio CD’s. There was a DVD in there of a local band on Roseville community cable. This is almost a full hour performance, which was rare at the time.
There was no info at all about this band online. Thanks to the internet archive’s wayback machine, I was able to find an awesome early 2000’s webpage that looks the part. Not only that, I was able to access the band member names. Awesome!
