Agnostic Front- Metro, Oakland Ca 10/3/18 Multicamera with Rode

After all these years, I had never seen Agnostic Front. They played last month at the Metro so I rolled out with Eric Marias. It was a good show- they played all of the classic songs you’d expect plus their best newer ones. It’s nice when a band knows the songs that people want to hear and they play ALL of them.
Stick with the video- the audio gets better after about 10min and the gopro by the guitar gets readjusted about 10-15min in.

Nuclear Assault- California Deathfest, Oakland Metro 10/15/16 Pt 1 Canon HFG30 Rode Video Pro Mic

This was Nuclear Assault’s last show ever in California, and I think I heard that it was their last show in the USA. I have been a fan since the pre-LP demo tape trading days, so I couldn’t miss this! Unfortunately, John was plagued with equipment problems. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone break a string on 2 songs in a row. They did at least a couple off Game Over, so I was happy.

Razor- California Deathfest, Oakland Metro 10/15/16 Part 1 Canon HFG30 & Rode Video Pro Mic

I was happy to see about half of Razor’s set last night. I went to an early show in Sacramento, then hustled over to the Metro for CDF. I walked in and my glasses fogged up. It was packed and hot, and people were going crazy for the band. The video is a bit obstructed, but I did my best. 1985 me can’t believe I saw this band. They were great!

The Skull- Oakland Metro Operahouse, Oakland Ca. 9/20/15 Multicam Doom Metal

THis was an excellent performance, but I am not totally happy with my video. Agelos did a great job editing as usual, but a few things went kinda wrong while taping. First, we were recording through the soundboard and we got the opening band just fine. The Skull’s set is just silence. I think the soundguy forgot to punch the channel to the recorder. Bummer.. so, the sound is less than stellar. The Metro is notorious for their acoustics and this one sounds a bit distorted and distant. Second, Eric was under bright red lighjts so I freaked out with my camera a bit, trying to get his hair from being overexposed. I get it dialied in about 20min into the set. All in all, it’s not bad but I was hoping to make a better video. For Ron Holzner and John Sharpen, and Jason Ellis who were all there. Harald Oimen and Jeff Becerra(I think) were there too. The “famous musician” to regular guy ratio was high at this show. Enjoy. Maybe I am being too hard on it.
