Sad Girlz Club- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca 8/26/18 Multicam with soundboard audio

Here is Sad Girlz Club’s set where they opened for the quasi-Ataris at the blue lamp in August. Man, they were great. I know I always go on about them, but they were really on at this show.
Before anyone gets on me about the imperfect board mix (I think it sounds great), I screwed up and forgot my rode mic so my options were limited. And what’s wrong with Shelby being up in the mix? I love her voice anyway.

Thanks to AJ for the sbd mix (I begged him at the last minute to fix it up for me)

The Ataris- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca 8/26/18 5 camera multicam with soundboard audio

Man, was this an unusual show. Right before the Ataris played, they announced that Kris was sick and could not perform. Dustin (their drummer) GETS A LAPTOP OUT with lyrics and sings the songs while drumming. One of the most badass fill-ins I have ever seen.
If you were one of the 20 people who were on stage for the last song, “Boys of Summer”, sorry but they made me delete that song or the video would be blocked in the USA.

Vinnie Guidera and the Dead Birds- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 8/26/18 5 camera multicam w/soundboard

Here’s another show from the seemingly endless backlog of multicam edits that have been on my hard drive & blu ray spindles. Actually, it is not endless. There are only 47 more- I counted them today!

VGDB opened for The Ataris back in 2018. This was the bizarre Ataris show where Kris was sick at the last minute and they played anyway, without him (the only original member). VGDB and Sad Girlz Club’s sets more than made up for it! Still kicking myself for having to miss the next VGDB/Ataris show, which had Kris singing misfits covers with Vinnie & band.

The Bar Fly Effect- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca 8/25/18 Canon HFG40

What a crazy night at the Blue Lamp on Saturday. I missed lightweight, but I was able to video The Barfly Effect- I saw them quite a while back and liked their CDs. They were heckled a bit by the crowd(more on them later), but they were good. I think they were just coming back from a long layoff.

Oh, and I was an idiot and mounted my microphone, turned it on, and then forgot to plug it in. So mediocre audio on this one for you.

Sloppy Seconds- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 8/25/18 Canon HFG40 Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. That was really nice- I appreciate you taking time out of your day to send something my way.

I know that my videos are not playing audio on phones only. They play fine on laptop and desktop systems. I tried to figure out a workaround for a few days but no luck. It looks like I need to change the way I film my single camera videos- no more 59fps/28mb AVCHD I guess. Sorry about that. If you really want to see this or any other silent videos, hit up a real computer.

OK, so this show was something else. This had the biggest pit I had ever seen at Blue Lamp. I am usually safe to film right in front of the mixing board, but not this time. I had to stand up in the mixing board area, and it is a good thing I did. I would have been clobbered. My camera goes sideways a few minutes in, due to my audio recorder getting pulled out of the mixing board(also a first ever). I saw a guy get his head pile-driven into the wood soundboard booth- it shook the entire thing. Crazy show- I had no idea SS brings that kind of crowd. Glad I didn’t multi cam- there’s no way they would have survived.

The Moans- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 8/25/18 Canon HFG40 Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

So the Tough Crowd (more on that later) seemed to like the Moans quite a bit. Some of the “pit dominators” started getting warmed up during their set. They were great as usual- Matt has such a great voice for their sound. I love their slower, melodic songs.
