Kepi Ghoulie- Dimple Records, Sacramento Ca. 3/16/19 LIVE HD Reanimation Festival FULL Album Set

Man, this was cool. I have seen Kepi & the Ghoulies more than any other band, and I have never heard him do a few of these. He played the entire Reanimation Fest album plus a couple of other hits.
Sorry, this is not by best camerawork. I was putting the camera down in between songs to help my daughter tie balloons and then I was having some fun with balloons during the set. I also forgot my monopod so I had to do the old school handheld thing.

Astral Cult- Dimple Records, Folsom Ca. 4/21/18 Canon HFG40 & Rode VPS Mic

Here is stop #2 of “Dimple RSD Tour 2018”. I was planning to go to the Graveshadow in store at Arden as well, but I got cranky so I just went home.
Man, Astral Cult are pretty cool. Psychedelic fuzzy wah wah bass goodness! Stefan(Bass) tended to drown out the guitar when the vocalist stopped playing second guitar, but it sounded pretty good- they were ear ringing loud but the sound is alright.
I also tried some of Stefan’s tea (he has a tea company) and edven though I am not a big tea drinker, that’s some good stuff. 2 thumbs up- one for astral cult, one for the tea.

Anime Aliens- Dimple Records Broadway, Sacramento Ca. 4/21/18 Canon HFG40 Rode VPS Mic

Here was stop 1 of “Dimple RSD Tour 2018”.
I barely made this show. I hit up Dimple Citrus Height & Folsom, then headed out to Broadway for the Anime Aliens show. I walked up right when they were starting. They have added Ronald James Hill (formerly of Charles Albright Band) on 2nd guitar. Charlie and Ron’s dual leads + the songs structure reminded me of Pavement cross with Thin Lizzy!
I really wanted to get a pic of the lady clapping out of time by the garbage can, but wanted to respect privacy. Just imagine her, right over there.

Dimple Records- Roseville Store Walkthrough and Dilyn 1988

Dimple was my first record store. I went to the Roseville store back when it was next to almond tree on harding. I think that’s where they really started to grow- the record store + the arcade next door(Starcade) was the place to be in the burbs in the early 80s.
I rented records and bought a Judas priest poster as some of my first purchases there. I found Riot’s Fire Down Under there and I think it was my first LP purchase from there.
This is a massive loss to the Sacramento area.
This video exists thanks to my good friend (for over 30 years) Jim Utz. We were video tape traders in the 80s and we each decided to do a video tour of our hometowns. He did St. Louis, and I did Roseville/Sacramento. Man, it is great to see some of this. More to come.
