Condemned Attitude- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 6/6/87 xfer from master VHS tape enhanced Adjustment

Let’s make up for the lack of recent Chris Eng video posts this weekend. It’s funny, I was already planning on posting this one sometime this weekend, and Andy called me the other day. I miss that guy- need to hang out sometime soon.
Anyway, this is probably the best quality Condemned Attitude video I have ever seen. There is one of those soundboard camera things from The Farm which is great as well, but this is a full set.
Condemned Attitude formed after the breakup of Attitude Adjustment in 1986- Andy, Rick Strahl and Chris Scaparro joined up with Keith Chatham from Condemned to Death to form the new band. They played Attitude Adjustment songs along with their new compositions. They lasted 6 months or so, then they changed their name to Attitude.

Condemned Attitude- Spanky’s, Sacramento Ca 4/15/87 master soundboard cassette rebalanced Adjustment

Here is one that I have been wanting to digitize for a LONG time. I promoted this show and assembled the lineup… but I didn’t have the master soundboard tape. I taped the other bands (the corrupted morals set was officially released!), but Wayne Vanderkuil was there and had a much nicer tape, so he taped it. I have to admit, I was bummed at the time (taper jealousy) but I am so happy that he did it- this transfer was super clean and allowed me to push the rebalance more than usual. Thanks Wayne!

I also have super crappy video of this show. I will attempt to synch it up, but I don’t think pluraleyes will be able to hack it. It was filmed with one of those videocameras where everything was earth toned, and the people turn translucent when they run in the pit. If any of my old manual synch friends (king bean and Derek) want to take a swing at it, let me know!

Andy Andersen backstage River Thtr Guerneville 3/22/87 w/Cryptic Slaughter MITFR Attitude Werhmacht

Here’s something fun- MANY years back (about 34 years), Andy lent me a few of his VHS tapes. This clip of pure insanity was on one of the tapes. This is Andy’s footage from before the River Thtr show with Cryptic Slaughter, Condemned Attitude, Attitude Adjustment and Wehrmacht. There is also footage from after the show- the drive back and the return that night to KUSF studios where Keith Chatham is talking about the Condemned LP and Ron and Harald are DJ’ing.
SO MANY people to mention on here- Ron, Harald, Andy, Keith, Toby Rage?, Tony the due?, Sherwood, Jeff Becerra, Sacrilege. All being completely nuts, making fun of skinheads, and many stream of consciousness interviews. Just classic.

Condemned Attitude- River Thtr, Guerneville 3/22/87 xfer from band VHS with soundboard audio enhance

Here is an EARLY but cool post today. I was good friends with the guys in condemned attitude so they lent me their copy of the vhs tape of the show. I also got a soundboard tape either from them, or in trade from Ron Quintana.
Now that we have good hardware (vhs decks and cassette decks) and software(Adobe premiere and neat video, isotope rx), we can make this one somewhat better than before.

Condemned Attitude- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 3/20/87 xfer from low gen soundboard cassette rebalanced

The clearout of the hard drive continues. I think this was during the early days of Gilman where they would not announce the bands- people were expected to just show up and see who played that night. If this is the right show (I digitized this months ago), you can hear Andy joking about it.
This board mix was super thin and tinny, and it sounded sped up to me. I slowed it down by 7% and it STILL sounds fast, but it is hard to tell with Andy’s vocal delivery. I boosted bass(+5), Drums (+1) and guitar(+5) in Izotope RX8. I also dropped about 3db off the highs because it was so bright.

Condemned Attitude- KALX live in studio 12/15/86 xfer frm 2nd gen audio cassette Attitude Adjustment

After I posted the Soup KALX show, DJ Last Will asked me if I had any other KALX live in studio tapes. I didn’t have any from shows that he hosted, but here is Condemned Attitude in their 2nd appearance ever, after splitting from Attitude Adjustment.
Condemned Attitude were Andy Andersen, Chris Scaparro, Keith Chatham, Rick Strahl, plus a few drummers (may have been Eric Brecht at this time). They then morphed into Attitude, then Two-Bit Thief.
This has a little reception static and the mix fluctuates. It sounds like they were playing pretty loud for an in studio.
