I mentioned that I cleaned my desk last weekend and found a bunch of stuff to be posted… there are about 12 Sacramento-related shows that my lifelong friend Gary Shurtleff (bootleg cowboys on YT) filmed, and I digitized last year. I thought I had posted all of the Sac ones from him, but there are something like 12 more.
Since I am so late in posting today, I’ll start with a short one. Here are the Deftones at Phoenix Theater back in 2000. I think I saw Romain from Deftones Live mention that Gary got busted filming, which would explain the 23 minute length of the video. Neat video does an AMAZING job cleaning up these 8mm master tapes. It looks so clean now.

Collecting and holy grails, my dumb sad story: I’d looked for this one on either video or audio ever since I was a teen (!), it’s believed that was the one and only time the band played my fav track. Gary (video) got his recording gear confiscated sadly a couple songs into the set, and Robert’s audio tape filled up near the end. Somehow with some kind of “bad luck”, they both missed the encore and that song

So I found out more info about this 5/12/00 show. Ken Doose filmed it and this is taken from either his master tape or a 1st gen.
The Readymades were:
Rich Haley – gtr, vocals
Charles Albright – gtr, bass
Jef Melendez – drums
Candice Adams tambourine
(thanks to the nokilli site for the info)
And, here is 4 minutes of The Pumpkinseeds. 4 minutes of them goes a LONG way. Actually, this is kinda awesome- think Steel Panther’s shtick years before they started.
From the awesome nokilli site:
Sacramento, cheesy funny metal punk band (wearing wigs & leather pants)
1999?-2001?
members:
Kevin Hinely
Jon [sic?] Boston
[drummer….was it “Mike”?]
Jake Phillips

man, what a great lineup for this show. There are pretty much no live videos of The Eyeliners on youtube so it is nice to get this one digitized and posted. Great pop punk- right up my alley.

Here’s a tape from Charles Albright’s collection. I’m not sure if he taped it, but it looks like it is a copy close to the master tape. And THIS is the old Press Club that I remember- decent lighting, but the pre-remodel layout.. which I like better.
Here’s the final set from that 5/12/00 show- The Urinals. From Charles Albright’s collection.
