Authorities- 924 Gilman, Berkeley 6/9/17 Multicam w/ Rode Audio Stockton Punk

Man, I was so excited to see this show. I am glad I made the trek over to Gilman because the Sacramento show was cancelled. Recorded with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10 and 1 gopro hero 4 silver. I messed up a bit and the G10 angle from the floor and the G30 angle from the old sound booth are a little too similar… but it turned out nice anyway. We opted for audience mic since the soundboard had ZERO bass. Like, none. Edited by my friend Agelos. Thank you again.

Last Communion- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 6/9/17 Multicam with Soundboard Audio

Hi Everyone, I’m going to be changing how I post stuff in the near future. I’ll be doing a few things differently: – I will be holding off posting stuff from the colony, colonial cafe & 924 Gilman (and maybe some older archival stuff) to support fundraising efforts for both venues through Patreon. More details to come soon. This is probably my last post from Gilman/etc outside of that project. – For the rest of what I post, I’ll be starting a blog so there is a more permanent home for my posts. Everything seems to get lost in the youtube & facebook noise, so I already opened a wordpress site. I’ll give more details when that is live as well. Since Last Communion (from Stockton) has been around since the 80s with no multicam videos, it was their turn to be posted. Enjoy!

The Pathogens- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 6/2/17 Part 1 Blatz Tilt Econochrist

Wow. We made sure to get to Gilman early to see The Pathogens, but I was not prepared for this. The band consists of Jesse Luscious(Blatz, Criminals etc), Cinder Block (Tilt), Markley Hart (Econochrist), Sebastian Stuart, Ronnie Shivers, and Jovino Bunny. They are playing the Hemlock tonight (opening the show again- why always opening?), so get down there and see this for yourself! I wanted to do a 4 camera shoot with soundboard audio. We got there too late and only got the 1 camera going late and the soundboard. Good thing Zoran rode with me, as he shot from another angle so hopefully we can edit those two together with the board. One last thing- I did not have my monopod and really needed it. They had an equipment issue so I thought I had time to grab my monopod out of the car. Nope, I missed a couple mins. At least you get to see me trotting my goofy ass out to the car, then back in to gilman with the camera running.

The Pathogens- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 6/2/17 LIVE Multicam with Soundboard Audio

If anyone was thinking about going to the big show tonight in Berkeley (GBH/DI/Pathogens/somebody else), be sure to get there early for The Pathogens. They ALWAYS seem to play super early, but I caught them a gilman a few years back and they were great. Features Cinder Block from Tilt and Jesse Townley from Blatz. 2 camera multicam with soundboard audio. The soundboard mix and the cameras stabilize about 8 minutes in(sorry, long story). I know the soundboard audio isn’t great, but it was really the only way you could hear the vocals- vocals were buried in the audience.

Avengers- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 11/7/14 Multicam with Matrix Audio Part 1

This was a fun night- my friend Jim Utz flew out from St. Louis to see the Avengers play and they were nice enough to allow me to video as well. It was strange- the band was ready to play an encore, and the venue flipped on the house lights and everyone left. Bizarre. Filmed with 1 HFG10 on tripod, 1 HF200 on tripod, and 1 HFG30 handheld (I should have used a monopod). Audio is soundboard + audience (Schoeps MK4). Soundboard mastered by me, audience by Jason Ellis. Matrix mix by Jason Ellis. Thanks Jason! Multicam editing done by Bong (thanks a lot, man) with special thanks to Tromster. These guys rule and are the reason why I am able to post these multicams! Enjoy

Thanks to Agelos for the edit and to Jason Ellis for the audio work. I’m posting this for Ken Doose, who is laid up in the hospital right now. Get better soon and get out of there! I hope this cures a bit of boredom for you. Make some requests and I’ll post them for you. And no, I don’t have any beatles, bad dress sense, or sewer trout that you don’t already have! 🙂

Judge-924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 5/23/14 Multicam NYHC SXE w/SBD audio part 1

Man, this was a wild show. I was going to film from the stage and I wisely decided to film from behind the merch table. As you can see, it was one of the only safe places in the venue. Lighting is uneven at Gilman, but I did the best I could. Here are all the specifics: Camera 1: Canon HFG30 on a monopod Camera 2: Canon HFG10 mounted to a ladder Camera 3: JVC GZ-EX250 filmed by Rodney Parker Filmed by Shayne Stacy & Rodney Parker SBD Audio captured by Shayne Stacy Edited, mixed and authored by tromster Special Thanks to Obidiah Stephen Bowling

7 Seconds- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 9/23/12 LIVE HD 1080P Master w/Soundboard Audio

This was my first and only attempt to synch up audio & video. I spent HOURS trying to line this up. This show was memorable because a bunch of kids jumped on stage at the end of the set to sing along… and there was a crowd surfer ON STAGE! If he would have fallen off the crowd toward the back, he would have gone through Troy’s drums. I talked to Troy about that a bit later, and that (crowd surfers on stage) had happened to them before. Crazy. The mix gets better a little into the show.
