The Coverups- 40th Street Block Party, Oakland Ca. 7/20/19 4k UHD Live Panasonic GH5S Green Day

OK, thanks to the community who informed me that I need to add a color LUT to my GH5S in order for the color to look right in the future. On a side note, OMG why is this so complicated?
I went ahead and color corrected this one in Adobe Premiere. Sorry for the multiple uploads- 1 more (2 camera) version is forthcoming.

The Coverups are a cover band consisting of:
Billie Joe Armstrong- Guitar/Vocals
Mike Dirnt- Guitar/Vocals
Jason White- Guitar/Vocals
Bill Schneider- Bass
Chris Dugan- Drums

Huge thanks to Frank Yeeann Chan for yelling over to me when I was walking by, and letting me hang out with him- it turned out to be a pretty nice place to video.

Paper Dolls- 40th Street Block Party, Oakland Ca. 7/20/19 Live Color Corrected Panasonic GH5S Rode

So I was stuck in horrendous traffic from Sacramento to Oakland when I was trying to get to the block party. I thought I left in PLENTY of time to see Sarchasm play at noon, but I sat in traffic for over an hour by vacaville. I get to the front of the slowdown and discover that they closed a lane to trim bushes. On a goddamn saturday morning. WHAT THE HELL CALTRANS?

Anyway, I missed Sarchasm. I also missed Destroy Boys as they played at the same time as our 924 Gilman board meeting. So, only this and Coverups. These guys were pretty good- east bay pop punk.

Live Performance

The Coverups- 40th Street Block Party, Oakland Ca. 7/20/19 HD Live Multicamera Green Day

OK, this is the last version of The Coverups block party that I plan to post. It is a multicamera edit which consists of the GH5S color corrected angle + a Canon HF G40 that I mounted to a tree. The tree was flimsy and dropped a bunch of crap all over me when I mounted it. Glad the tree remained standing- you can see it bouncing a bit in the video. We also used a different audio source from the tree mount. Sounds a bit better.

Frack! – Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 7/12/19 Live HD Master Video Canon HF G40 Black Flag cover

I have seen Frack about 5 times now and this was their best set I have seen. You could tell that they were pretty happy to be opening the sold-out Flipper show. The new songs sound great, while keeping in the best of the older ones. Features the crowd pleasing Rise Above cover, like you’ve never heard before!

Authorities- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 7/11/19 5 Camera Multicam Live w/ Matrix Audio Stockton Punk

I’ve had this new role at my old job that has been super demanding. I had conference calls scheduled late on the same night that The Authorities played Blue Lamp. I wasn’t going to let that stop me. I took the call in the car while parked outside the venue, then ran in and scrambled to set 5 cameras up before they started. It came out pretty good considering the circumstances.
This is the era of Blue Lamp lighting that had cycling colors, which would overexpose the video in parts, and be so dark it was hard to see in others. It was still not too bad.
