Live at Starlite Lounge. Both the band and I were having some technical issues, the video starts about halfway through the set.

With a name like Diarrhea Planet, they must be awful… right? Nope, these guys ROCK with an insane 4 guitar attack. They barely fit on the Blue Lamp’s stage. Great set, my only complaint was the short 45 minute set. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30 and 1 Canon HFG10. Schoeps Audio courtesy of Jason Ellis. Thanks to Sean Hills for bringing them to town again, and to Gabi and Andrew and everyone at Blue Lamp. Great club. Thanks to Charlie Passerel for the edit

I had been hearing good things about Boy Romeo so I made sure to show up early to catch their set opening for Diarrhea Planet. They are great! The songs are catchy as hell and a little proggy while still sounding current. Good stuff and I’ll definitely catch them when they play again. One other thing. How freaking talented is Adam Jennings? I have seen him play guitar in Charles Albright’s band, drums in multiple bands including Little Tents and CHRCH, and now bass in boy romeo. Usually when you see someone who is not playing their “native” instrument, they are a bit tentative.. nope. Adam OWNS all of them. I asked him once how he can play multiple instruments in multiple bands. He said “I just get bored and pick it up”. 😐

Sun Valley Gun Club also opened the Diarrhea Planet show, and rather then film them, I had planned to set up my tripods for the headliner. Sun Valley Gun Club were so good, I dropped everything and started filming. I did not even ask permission like I usually do. So, if the band disapproves, let me know. Kinda alt-countryish. I swear, I may be biased but I truly feel the Sacramento music scene is the best in the world. So many great bands.

Moonraker is a band from Santa Clarita. They came through town touring their recent release “Fail Better”, available on Bandcamp. This part 1 is only 7min long because my battery died, the rest of the set is in part 2.

I got to the show a little late and was setting up right as the band was getting ready to start. I asked for a song and they played it- A cover of The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry”. This show sounded better than any press club show I have been to- thanks Chris!
