Phallucy- Cattle Club 30th Anniversary, Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca. 5/11/19 Sony A7Sii 4k HD Rode VPS

Here’s the Phallucy set from last Saturday. They were short a member or two, so they recruited a cast of Sacramento music legends to help fill in at times. Fun set and they sounded amazing- nice job by John Taylor.
Since I decided to come last-minute and Jim McLain had the multicamera video duties all covered, I decided to bring my new 4k DSLR camera to test it out. It was so new to me that I pulled the lens out of the shipping box while driving. I had no idea how to hell to use the camera and you can tell during anton barbeau’s set. I finally got it to an acceptable level after fiddling around with the controls while Anton was playing.

Phallucy- New World Studio Sessions Jan 9 to 11, 1991 xfer from low gen audio cassette Abe Deftones

It’s Monday, time for an audio post. I check the spreadsheet and it looks like something from Dal Basi’s collection is up today- it’s been a month and a half since I last posted something from him. I check through what has been digitized and needs processing, and WHAT A COINCIDENCE. Sonny Mayugba and Abe Cunningham, two of the nice folks who called up Brian McKenna last week about doing a benefit show TONIGHT, was in Phallucy! It would just make sense to put this one up today.

These sound like raw studio sessions that were done over a 3 day recording span back in 1991. Since Phallucy’s CD was recorded at Enharmonik in 1993, I assume that these sessions never saw the light of day. I tried to Shazam about 5 songs and it can’t identify any of them. The section from 20-30 min has super low levels and the quality is not as good, but the rest sounds pretty good!
Check ’em out and head out to the benefit show tonight at Harlow’s- Phallucy is playing along with a million other Sacramento bands(not exaggerating)! Literally a million. Have not seen an outpouring of love like this since Jerry’s benefit.
