The Strange Party- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 6/25/16 Part 1

Funny story about this one. So I *really* wanted to see Strange Party but I had a call for work from 10-11pm on the same night. So I had this great idea to go to the club and take the call from the parking lot. The plan worked great… unit the call went over by 25min and I missed half their set. I think this was the live debut of “skin on skin”- killer new song.

Venom Inc- Star Theater, Portland Or. 6/20/16 Canon HFG30 and Rode Video Pro Mic

I go to Portland a lot for business and there is usually nothing good playing when I go, since I go during the week. This week, I was surprised to see Venom Inc playing on a Monday night, so I went. When I pulled in to downtown to park, I saw Ground Kontrol Arcade, so I knew this was going to be a fun night. Venom inc is Mantas on guitar, Abaddon on drums, and a Demolition Man on bass and guitar(he was on the Prime Evil album, I think). The set consists of material entirely from their first 2 LPs and EPs from that same time frame, except for 1 track. It was WAY better than I expected. SO GREAT. I forgot how much I loved these evil bastards. The vocals are a bit buried in the mix, but they were that way the enitre night. In fact, I was right in front of the PA, about 30 feet back. Still great though.

The Next- Lennon Studios, San Francisco 6/18/16 Multicam w/ James Williamson f/ The Stooges

Sorry for the long delay in between posts. I was moving the entire archive- 4,000 cassettes, 3,000 live DVDs, 2,000 Live CDRs, 2,000 DATs and over 1,000 VHS tapes into the new building. Never again. Anyway, I have a huge backlog of stuff to post. First off, here is a great video of The Next w/Jimmy Crucifix. JAMES WILLIAMSON from THE STOOGES join the band onstage for “Search and Destroy”! Amazing! Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30s and audio from rode video pro stereo mic. Thanks to Jim Pitts for the invite to film, and to my good friend Agelos for the edit work.

Rikk Agnew- Lennon Studios, San Francisco 6/18/16 Multicam Adolescents D.I.

Here is Rikk Agnew’s set from the Lennon Studios benefit for Hugh and Jimmy. Great show, but my G30 in the back is not centered so I cut off the bass player a bit. Rikk’s daughter joins him onstage for “amoeba”, which was the first time she has done that. There was a really drunk guy trying to tell me how to film, so you will probably hear some chatter on this one. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30s. Thanks to Jim Pitts for the invite to film, and to Agelos for the edit.

No Alternative- Lennon Studios, San Francisco Ca. 6/18/16 Multicam Punk

Here’s No Alternative’s set from the benefit for Hugh & Jimmy. So, this was supposed to be an all-instrumental set since Hugh was not supposed to sing.. but we got a couple of the old hardcore classics anyway. Thanks to Jim Pitts for the invite to film, and to Agelos for the edit work.

Dead Dads- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 6/15/16 Part 1

Here is the Dead Dads set from Wednesday night. This is their 2nd to last show, before Lys moves back east. Great set- probably the best I have seen them. I got there a little late so I missed the first song, and it cuts into song #2. Taped with Canon G30 and Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic
