Dr. Know- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 6/11/15 1080P HD Master w/Rode audio

I was emailing someone earlier this week about Dr. Know and I searched the archive for the videos I shot of them… and this one was missing. I never posted anything from this show. Odd. So I dug the 2 bands that I filmed out of my spindles to post. I wonder how many more of these are not posted yet.. This show was memorable because it was the last time I got to see the band play (w/Kyle), and during the set, the soundman put so much reverb on Kyle’s vocals that it was comical. Kyle finally had to say something after the song ended- it was a ridiculous amount of reverb. Man, I miss seeing the band. I wish they would release the album they recorded in the mid-2010’s.

Dr. Know- Midtown Barfly, Sacramento Ca. 10/5/14 4 Camera Multicam Part 1!

Another great show by Dr. Know. The crowd went nuts at this one. I was talking to a friend from out of town afterward, and he shook his head and said “Sacramento really loves Dr. Know”. Who Knew? This one is a 4 camera edit with soundboard audio. Thanks to agelos and Bong for the editing work. Cam 1: HFG30 on stage Cam 2: HFG10 on tripod stage right Cam 3: HF200 in back of club on tripod Cam 4: Jesse Davis’ angle (Thanks Jesse!). You really need to see Dr. Know when they play. They are seriously better than the ’80s version!

Dr. Know- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 10/4/14 Part 1 3 camera Multicam Punk!

When you film with 3 cameras and pull a soundboard mix, it is really hard to get everything to go right. Unattended cameras aree overexposed, some drunk guy bumps a tripod and throws a camera off center, etc. It is really rare when EVERYTHING goes right. This is the ONLY time so far that everything has gone right for me. Thanks to Tyler the Gilman soundman for an amazing mix. Handheld: Canon HFG30 with Rode Video Pro Mic Behind merch area: Canon HFG10 Stage left: Canon HF200 Great performance as well. Kyle Toucher Dr. Know Ken Leege Loren Scott may want to check this out. Thanks to agenlos and bong for the 3 camera mix- you would not be watching this without them. PS: Why does youtube tag Gilman as a “drinking establishment” when no alcohol is permitted?

Here’s another collaboration with Vulture Video. 3 cameras and soundboard audio. This was the show that won me over as a Dr. Know fan 25 years after seeing them last. Thanks to Ryan from vulture for the angles to edit!

Dr. Know- The Observatory, Santa Ana Ca. 6/14/2014 1080p HD w/Soundboard Audio!

This is a long story. I had planned to fly down to orange county, see this show, and then fly back on Father’s Day morning and still enjoy a day with the family. Well, I forgot that we scheduled a house concert with Shannon Curtis on the same day. So, sitcom-style hilarity ensues with me trying to hold the show at home, then speeding to the airport and getting on the plane… it all worked out. Thanks to Chris from Side Effects for allowing me to film 1984, which got my equipment in to film this. I was going to do multi cameras on this one but my tripod was broken when I pulled it out of my bag!

Dr. Know- El Dorado Saloon, Sacramento Ca. 7/19/87 Audio Only xfer from master tape LIVE

This lineup was ridiculously stacked- when Dag Nasty opens the show, you know it’s good. Dr. Know was up second and Kyle Toucher was doing a little guitar butt-play behind Stewart Sacramento Katz while Stew was trying to introduce them.. that’s why you hear so much cheering there.
And, Dr. Know has always kicked ass. Man, what a great band. Kyle, when is that new album going to be ready??
