Propadandees- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento 10/26/19 4K UHD Propaghandi

Propadandees were the opening band at Punch and Pie’s halloween party. They were the only full-time tribute band to play.. the rest of the bands were people from different bands in the local scene who came together to play.

The Stooges performed by Jesus & the Dinosaurs- Cafe Colonial Sac 10/26/19 4K UHD Halloween Iggy Pop

Probably the most obvious band choice for the Halloween show was Jesus & the Dinosaurs doing The Stooges… since they have that early Detroit sound down in their regular band. Good set despite some tech issues.

Lightweight, Sad Girlz Club, Danger Inc as X- Cafe Colonial, Sac 10/26/19 4k UHD

So the good people (person?) over at Punch and Pie put on one hell of a show at the cafe last Saturday. 1 out of town band and many locals teamed up to play sets of their favorite artists. This one paired Donny from lightweight on Guitar, Jessica (Vocals) and Dave(Drums) from Danger Inc, and Travis from Sad Girlz Club.
So, I need to apologize to Sean and the band- I was so tired, plus this performance was so good that I did not check my camera closely and did not start recording at the start of the set. So, I was filming away with the camera on pause like a dumb shit. I am SO SORRY. The 9 minutes you get is great though.

By the way, there is a reason why I am posting this one today. These guys (and lady) are playing at 924 Gilman TONIGHT. If you are able to make it, you totally should go to that show. This was great fun.

Live Concert Video

Third Eye Blind performed by Freature and The O’Mulligans- Cafe Colonial, Sac 10/26/19 4K UHD

This was probably the most energetic set of the night. The 4 members of Freature and the O’Mulligans on stage for the first time ever! Kyle nails the phrasing of the songs, and they are not easy. I screwed up and let my battery die during one of the hit songs at the end. You know which one I am talking about.

The Clash- Performed by Bastards of Young & Setting Sons, Cafe Colonial, Sac 10/26/19 4K UHD

The last band of the night were the brothers Hills from Bastards of Young, Jeremy Nied from Setting Sons, and I can’t ID the drummer(sorry) playing The Clash.
I am surprised the video came out as well as it did- I had to stand in the middle of the room instead of using a wall to stabilize the camera. I guess being on a diet and not drinking too much has its advantages!

Mastiff- Den of Sin, Sacramento Ca. 10/25/19 4K UHD Live Hardcore Punk

Mastiff were 2nd up on the bill at Den of Sin. This was the only band of the night that brought out the karate kicking, fist windmilling hardcore pit. There was nowhere for me to go, so if I appear distracted it was because I was avoiding a fist or a foot.

Sheer Terror- Den of Sin, Sacramento Ca. 10/25/19 4K UHD Live NYHC Hardcore

Posting this one out of order for Dan Hague & Agelos- they are big fans.
But also, this was probably the funniest moment of the weekend. I was listening them do their set of Hardcore classics and I hear a song that was vaguely familiar but I couldn’t place it. After about the first verse and chorus, it dawned on me HOLY SHIT they are covering an Old 97s ballad, Salome! First they do a shout-out from stage about The Blasters and Dave Alvin, then a 97s cover. awesomely bizarre. Glad they don’t take the “hardcore rules” too seriously.

If you are one of my friends from the alt.country side of things, you can skip to Salome at about 21:00.

The Knockoffs- Old Ironsides, Sacramento Ca. 10/25/19 4K UHD Live

Right after Sheer Terror’s set at Den of Sin, I broke down cameras and hauled ass over to Old Ironsides. As soon as I walked in and paid/ID check, they started their set. Perfect timing! The beginning of the video is a little chaotic since they put a damned halloween decoration hanging on stage which got in the way. It is smooth sailing after I move a couple minutes in.
This was the band’s show for their first release in about 15 years, the EP “What a Bunch of Dicks”. They only made 50 CD’s due to copyright issues with the cover. So happy to get one. They sound great with Bear on drums.
