Mean Jeans- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 8/28/19 Multicamera with Soundboard Audio Punk 5 Cam

It was nice to see the Mean Jeans in a bigger room. They have only played smaller places in Sac before. I thought that I pushed the soundboard remix a little too hard and caused some distortion, but this sounds pretty clean.

Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore w/ The Guilty Ones- Oddfellows Hall, Auburn Ca. 8/24/19 Audio

This was the maiden voyage for my new preamp (same one I used for Iron Maiden’s audio) and it sounds pretty good. Thanks Chris for the help- it has been working great!
Dave had some amp problems but it really gets going in the 2nd half of the set. It was nice seeing Jimmie Dale Gilmore play with a kickass rock band!

Abolitionist- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 8/23/19 4cam Multicam w/Rode Audio

I was lucky enough to catch Abolitionist’s show on their final run through Sacramento. They played their last shows up in Oregon a couple of weeks back. If you like this, you may want to check out/like Dustin’s(Vocal/guitar) new project DZTN 1980.
Sorry that the audio is so rough to start. When you have a loud drummer, it makes the sound super harsh in that room. It gets better about 8 minutes in.

Tim Williamson- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 8/23/19 Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic Pro Stereo Live

I finally got over to the Cafe for a show- it had been a while. I went for a late night snack on a non-show night, but this is my first after Gabi & Ben took it over. Wow, is it CLEAN. Very nice remodel.

Tim Williamson opened the show on Friday and he is always good. Great songwriter. I think he is playing one more show at the Fig Tree in Roseville this Wednesday before coming back to downtown sac.

Carcass- Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 HD Master Live

Carcass played right after Triumph of Death. I don’t know if it was my excitement & anticipation for ToD or what, but I lost interest pretty early on during the set. I hope it isn’t too obvious in the video. The lighting made it a challenge to see and to keep focus.

The Misfits-Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 4k UHD Master Live

So this guy named “frenchonionsoupandkittylitter” dropped this video on me today. It looks like he filmed The Misfits’ entire 85 minute set from this past weekend in 4K UHD! The first few minutes are a bit rough, but once he settles down, this could be the best misfits reunion vid out there. This was definitely not a cell phone vid- it is done with a camera that has a killer zoom capability- possibly a Lumix ZS70.

This one is for Kevin Seconds because I know he is a HUGE FAN.

Thanks FOSAKL!

Triumph of Death (Hellhammer)- Psycho Fest, Mandalay Bay Events Ctr, Las Vegas NV 8/17/19 4k UHD

When I saw that Tom G Warrior announced a Hellhammer performance in France, I figured I would never get to see it… then I missed the announcement that they were playing Psycho Fest. I found out only when some random guy commented on a Ron Quintana post.. so thanks!
I have not been this excited for a show in a long time, and it was awesome. The bass drums were a little heavy in the mix early in the set, which caused my camera to have an odd “wobble” effect. It gets better a few minutes in. Sorry for the focus issues- this stage is so big (bigger than most clubs I film in), that I would lose focus from one side to the other.

Ramona- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 8/14/19 4K UHD Live Rode Videomic Pro

Ramona were from Seattle and are now based in Philadelphia. Joe Burns- do you know these guys? They were pretty good and really funny. Sorry for the audio levels bouncing all over the place- my only complaint with the GH5S is that I need to shut it off to adjust settings- even audio levels. So I play around with the attenuation level on the mic to get it to a decent volume, but I could not get it dialed in for some reason.
