Dag Nasty- Thee Parkside, San Francisco 12/8/17 LIVE Multicam Minor Threat

I could ramble on and on about this one. This was the best show I have seen this year. The video turned out great as well- I encourage you all to actually watch this one. I was excited to see them, but I was not expecting this level of great. The club was sold out, and it is so small that means that you can’t move. at all. Luckily, I have these pole mounts from Jim Mclain and the club has 3 poles, so I was able to mount 3 cameras. I then wedged into a tiny 12″ x 12″ spot by the bands equipment to film the angle closest to Brian. Since moving was impossible, I asked Colin Sears to put my gopro on stage. He tossed it up there for me(thanks), but the angle is not completely pointed at him. It still turned out OK. The crowd sang along to every song. It was so much fun.

7 Seconds- Thee Parkside, San Francisco Ca. 4/8/16 4 camera Multicam w/Rode Audio

This one turned out great. Thanks to Agelos for the great editing work. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG10’s (pole mounted) and 2 Canon HFG30’s (1 pole mount, 1 monopod w/Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic). The crowd was very into this one- much moreso than Sacramento the night before. You can see Jim Pitts up front rocking!

DI- Thee Parkside, San Francisco 12/12/15 Multicam with Rode Audio D.I. DxIx

So much to say about this show. First of all, I saw a FB post that D.I. was going on at 9:30pm, and I was still at home at 7pm. So I scrambled and threw my stuff into my backpack and flew out the door. I get to the club at 7:25.. and the band 2 bands before D.I. had not started yet. D’oh! So, as a result, I had no USB drive for the soundboard and I forgot my mini-to-mini cable for my good mics. The sound is still good, but not perfect. Also, 2 of the 3 cameras decide to freak out because I put them on “auto” setting and the low red lights made them constantly adjust. Next time I’ll know better. But the show. BEST SHOW I have ever seen D.I. do, and I have been going to D.I. shows since 1987. It was an “early days” set- all songs from the 1st 2 LPs. The crowd was into it and the band is in top form.. so despite all of my whining about the video, it turned out really great. Thanks to Agelos for his careful editing of this one- you can tell he enjoyed the show as well! Thanks also to Bobby Rio and Ed Tatar for the OK to film.

Grand Champeen- Thee Parkside, San Francisco, CA 1/25/04 xfer from DV master enhanced Schoeps Audio

Here is one that I have been trying to improve for a long time. It used to be super dark- to the point that you could only see Michael Crow and none of the other band members. I was able to brighten and adjust contrast, then denoise. (ignore the thumbnail, it looks better on the video). We then took KN’s schoeps audio and synched it up with the enhanced video. There are not many complete GC sets from this early- this is a tour opening for Richmond Fontaine for “The One That Brought You” release. Sounds great.

Grand Champeen- Thee Parkside, San Francisco Ca. 1/25/04 transfer from DV Master!

This is the last time I saw Champeen. I was in China when they came back around in 2007. Man, I miss this band. This video was done on my old JVC DV camcorder and it is very dark. If these guys are playing close to you, you need to check them out. I tried to get them to play my sabbatical party, but it just did not work out.
