Sam Coomes- Red Museum, Sacramento Ca. 9/28/16 Quasi Part 1

I first saw Sam at the UC Davis Coffeehouse in April of 1989. Have you ever been to a show and heard an artist for the first time, and knew you’d be a lifelong fan. That happened my first time I saw the Donner Party. They broke up shortly after that, but I have been following Sam’s career with Quasi, Blues Goblins, and his solo material. Even though I am FB friends with him, I somehow missed that he was playing Sacramento until the day before the show. I dropped other plans and went to the show. It was great! He has a new CD out called Bugger me that most of this material is from, I think.

Naked Raygun- Stinky’s Al Fresco, San Francisco 9/26/16 “New Dreams” Canon HFG30

This one is mainly for Joy Spicer, since she could not go to the show. So Stinky’s would not give me permission to film Naked Raygun, even though I had filmed them many times in the past. After I got turned away at the door (and in advance), I hopped an uber to Folsom St Fait to film Jello Biafra with 3 cameras. That one is something to see! After Jello, I uber’d back to Stinky’s and NR started EARLY and was just finishing up their set. I filmed the last song from the sidewalk outside the venue. Please note the police/security person looking at me, then texting someone, then calling someone. Ha ha, Good thing the song is only 1:20.

Jello Biafra & the Guantanamo School of Medicine- Folsom St Fair, SF 9/25/16 Multicam

I know I have been posting a lot of videos, but you MUST WATCH this one. Here’s the background: I was not planning on going to this- I had tickets to the Stinky’s al Fresco show at Thee Parkside, but I could not get my equipment in so I took an Uber over to the Folsom St. Fair to see Jello play. If you don’t know what Folsom St Fair is, head over to Google and look it up. It is billed as “The World’s Largest Leather Event”. So I get there and start putting cameras up. No one seems to care. The band is late getting on stage and while I wait, there are some people partying on an apartment balcony overlooking the stage, trying to get our attention. Then they started to do something right on the balcony- I’m not gonna say what it was (this is youtube after all) but it rhymes with “Rim Blob”. So, I got to see one of those live. Then the band comes on. Great show, and great audience. Lots of buttless chaps and Jello strips down to bondage gear at the end of the show! This was my first time that I got really good results with the Gopro. Filmed with 1 HFG10 on a pole (the setting sun affected this angle a bit), 1 HFG30 and rode video pro mic on a monopod, and a gopro set up side stage. Edit by Agelos- thanks my friend.
