No Accion- Toot’s Tavern, Crockett Ca. 12/28/18 Canon HFG30 Rode Live Master

I set my cameras up to video the headliner (Corrupted Morals) and caught the end of this band’s set. They were pretty good, so I thought I’d post it. They are from the Salinas/Watsonville/Santa Cruz area and it seems like they a nice following already, with some recordings and a tour under their belt in 2018.

Corrupted Morals- Toot’s Tavern, Crockett Ca. 12/28/18 Live East Bay Punk Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic

So since I can’t lift anything heavier than a damned coffee cup for 2 months, I am unable to lift the trays of tapes & DVDs on my shelves to access stuff to post. So, you get what is on my hard drive, plus any audiotapes I have accessible, plus DATs. I can get to the DATs without lifting.
Anyway, I thought I would start a new series of “stuff I have on my hard drive to be edited, but they are not done yet”, and I will pick 1 angle from the show to post.
Here is a corrupted Morals show from Toot’s a little over a year ago. I decided to use the camera I operated, so the camera work is a little hyperactive. Remember that this is supposed to be 1 angle of a multicam edit.
As always, enjoy.

Corrupted Morals- Toots Tavern, Crockett Ca. 12/28/18 5 camera multicam East Bay Punk

I have been videotaping Corrupted Morals for over 30 years. They played the 2nd show I ever promoted, and they played my 50th birthday party. Great guys who I consider friends.
I think that this is the best video we have ever done of them. The angles turned out great, and it was a fun performance.
The soundboard tape turned out so awful that any attempts to matrix it with the audience tape, just made it sound worse. So this has rode audio only.. not for lack of trying.

Bastards of Young- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 12/27/18 Canon HFG40 Master

This was impressive. One of the main guys in the band- Nick Ripley(Guitar/vocals) was very sick and unable to perform (the viruses are really going around in Sac right now)… so they went ahead and performed as a 3 piece, with Pat on vocals for all the songs. I guess you can call this “Patstards of Young” ha ha, err.
You can tell that everyone really stepped it up to cover for Nick’s absence. Well done!

Lightweight- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 12/27/18 Canon HFG40 Master

What a stacked lineup at Press Club this past Thursday for the Camp Fire benefit. Lightweight kicked it off with their catchy pop punk. Donny (Vocals) was eating honey in between songs- the only other person I have seen do that on stage is Debbie Gunn (Sentinel Beast). Gives you an idea of his vocal style.

The Polyorchids- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 12/27/18 Canon HFG40 Master

Since Justin now lives out of state, I try to make a point to attend any Polyorchids show that is announced. This was one of the best performances I have seen, and they played with a ton of energy. Sorry for the camera bouncing around a bit. I was rocking. and singing. Check out the new-ish album. It sounds amazing and the new songs are great!

KEVIN & ALLYSON SECONDS- Momo, Sacramento Ca. 12/22/18 Jerry Perry Benefit Taperjim

Running a bunch (4? 5?) cameras on 2 floors was a challenge and something was inevitably going to get missed. I ran upstairs after 99 Tales set to check on the camera at Momo and the memory card was full, and no longer recording! Luckily, I only missed the first minute or so of Kevin & Allyson’s set.
Thanks to Jim McLain for splicing in a couple of his cameras so it doesn’t cut in mid-song.

99 TALES- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca. 12/22/18 Multicam w/Matrix Audio Jerry Perry Benefit Taperjim + 3

Man, it took youtube editor 4 DAYS to shave off 3 minutes at the start of this! First and last time I use that.
99 Tales were one of the bands I was most anticipating- they were one of the best alt-country/americana bands in the city back in the 90s, and I kinda missed out. They sounded great- nice matrix work by Jim McLain!

LGS- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca. 12/22/18 Jerry Perry Benefit Multicam with Matrix Little Guilt Shrine

Next up on the main stage was LGS. I have always known them as Little Guilt Shrine, but LGS came out as a different band- Lima Gulf Sierra! They were funny and very entertaining. Fans came in from far away to see them- I never knew they had such a loyal following!
