7 Seconds- Metro, Oakland Ca. 6/28/14 1080P HD Master Video Live

Me and my best friend “Anonymous” bought tickets to Total Devo(that early songs show) at The Fox… then this 7 Seconds show was announced. I thought I was screwed and would not make this show, but we took off for the 7 seconds show right when the Devo show finished, and walked in a couple minutes before 7 seconds started. I love it when stuff like that works out!
Any 7 Seconds show outside of Sacramento is bound to be a great one, since the crowd usually goes totally insane. That was the case here. My favorite part of the show is when a stagediver takes the mic for “Young til I die”… and HE WON’T GIVE THE MIC BACK. Thankfully, Kevin (nicely) wrestled it away from him before the Minor Threat part started.

7 Seconds- Concerts in the Park, Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sacramento Ca. 6/14/14 Pt 1

This was such a great day at CIP. 7 Seconds had just released “Leave a Light On” and were debuting some songs from that release live, along with all of the old favorites. The video came out great- especially the audio- because of my new-ish Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic.. which I promptly lost after the show. It fell out of my pocket. You should catch the band on tour- they are back together and touring the world. They are better than ever.

Here’s another collaboration with Vulture Video. 3 cameras and soundboard audio. This was the show that won me over as a Dr. Know fan 25 years after seeing them last. Thanks to Ryan from vulture for the angles to edit!

This is part 1 only- you can find the rest of the show on Youtube

1984 Crucifix Members- Observatory, Santa Ana Ca. 6/14/14 4 camera Multicam w/soundboard audio Pt. 1

This was probably the craziest day ever for me. We agreed to hold a backyard concert for Shannon Curtis that day. I bought a ticket & plane ticket to see 1984 in orange county. I did not realize until after we committed to both events that they were on the SAME DAY. So, we hosted the backyard show, then I jumped in the car and sped to the airport and flew to orange county to see the show. I get inside (Thanks Chris from 1984) and realize that my tripod for my 2nd camera was broken. Looking back, I am glad I did because I approached some other guys with video cameras and introduced myself and asked about tripods. They did not have one, but I got to meet the VULTURE VIDEO guys and it started a great friendship/collaboration that is going strong a year later. This is a 4 camera multicam with soundboard audio. My camera was an HFG10 with stock mic, plus I mastered the soundboard. Vulture Video is responsible for the rest of the angles. Thanks Ryan and company!! Also, I need to send a huge thanks to Agelos Porf and “bong” for editing and authoring this one. It is AMAZING- probably the 2nd best video we have ever done next to The Faction (which is being commercially released). So, thanks again guys. I know I say it a lot, but I really appreciate it. Enjoy.

Dr. Know- The Observatory, Santa Ana Ca. 6/14/2014 1080p HD w/Soundboard Audio!

This is a long story. I had planned to fly down to orange county, see this show, and then fly back on Father’s Day morning and still enjoy a day with the family. Well, I forgot that we scheduled a house concert with Shannon Curtis on the same day. So, sitcom-style hilarity ensues with me trying to hold the show at home, then speeding to the airport and getting on the plane… it all worked out. Thanks to Chris from Side Effects for allowing me to film 1984, which got my equipment in to film this. I was going to do multi cameras on this one but my tripod was broken when I pulled it out of my bag!

Resist and Exist- Observatory, Santa Ana Ca. 6/14/14 Audio Soundboard master Anarcho Peace Punk

Hey, it’s Monday again! Here is another audio post to enjoy while you start your work week. I described the crazy circumstances around this show in the dr. know and 1984 posts that you can find on sacramentomusicarcive.com. This set was the first one I recorded that night. I had a video wristband so I went up to the soundman with my standard bullsh*t story of doing a multicam shoot and needing soundboard access. Soundmen usually tell me to get lost during the show, but this guy was super cool, shrugged his shoulders and plugged me in. thank you.
Another fun fact about this one- you can hear Kyle Toucher say something at the end of their set like “that’s how it’s done”. That was a comment about R&E’s set- I guess Kyle isn’t a fan!

Dissension followed Resist & Exist’s set. Here is an account of the crazy circumstances leading up to the concert:

Final Conflict- The Observatory, Santa Ana Ca. 6/14/14 Multicam Soundboard Audio Complete Ashes Set

I wish it wasn’t such a pain to video at The Observatory. It is designed for a killer video shoot- Multi levels and great sight lines, plus their board tapes sound outstanding. Oh well, at least I got to do this one. Very thankful to Chris from Side Effects for the video pass.
Even though this is only 2 cameras, it mixes well since Ryan was right up by the stage and I was filming from the 1st or 2nd level.
