Pegboy- 924 Gilman Berkeley Ca 7/1/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Multitrack Audio Naked Raygun Complete Show

This was a GREAT show at Gilman from earlier this year. Pegboy and Rhythm Collision. Glad I made it.
It was made even better when everything came together for this video- band gave permission, Alex Botkin helped work behind the scenes to get a multitrack recording for me, and the lighting was great.
The only downside is that Larry spends a lot of time in the crowd- I should have put a camera pointing in that area. Would have been perfect.
Super cool of the band to honor Pierre Kezdy by playing Treason, and dedicating it to him.

Rhythm Collision- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 7/1/25 4K Multicam w/Multitrack Audio Hardcore Dr. Strange

Collections post from me today. Man, am I glad I got to see these guys. They disbanded in 1995 and got back together in 2023 and they ripped. Big thanks to Alex Botkin for helping arrange the multitrack recording- this one turned out nice.

7 Seconds- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 5/17/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Multitrack Audio Hardcore Punk Kevin

One from my collection this evening. 7 Seconds played a couple shows back in May. Shortly before the shows were happening, Steve broke his wrist, so Bobby Jordan (The Knockoffs, Go National, Red Star Memorial, MTX, lots more) filled in on bass with only 1 week’s notice and 1 rehearsal. Talk about a herculean task. Well done.

The first night at Harlows was the better show in my opinion, but this one sounds a LOT better. Unfortunately, Gilman decided to turn on these new LED lights which made getting a decent video picture pretty much impossible. I tried to compensate with my monopod angle by adjusting ISO and exposure, but it still looks odd. The gopros totally freaked out, especially on Bobby’s side. Sorry about that.

But it sounds fantastic!

The Government- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 5/17/25 4K Master Santa Cruz Punk

Going FIFO and clearing out all of my master tapes that have backed up a bit. This is the 2nd time I had seen The Government- the first being back when Phono Select was still putting on shows. I think the band is from the Santa Cruz area. I got to the venue right when they were setting up, so the set cuts in but it is pretty close to complete.

I also have multitrack audio but that takes a ton of work on a different PC so unless someone really needs to hear that, it will sit in the archives.

Scene Killers- BOB Fest, 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 4/18/25 4K UHD Multicam Schoeps Audio Blatz Gr’ups

Here’s one that I video’d back in April. Jesse Townley (Blatz, Gr’ups, Criminals, Pathogens etc) and his band came over from England to play some shows here. They have 2 albums out and the latest is on Alex Botkin’s Lavasocks Records, so if you want one you don’t need to worry about overseas shipping!

I wasn’t able to get a soundboard but the Schoeps mics recording turned out pretty good. Jesse’s vocals and the guitar were a bit low so I bumped them up in Izotope.

The Enemies- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 4/18/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Schoeps Audio Lookout Records Punk

This was such a fun show and an amazing lineup. Tension Span, Scene Killers, The Enemies, and the Subhumans. It was like an East Bay Punk reunion!
I happened to see The Enemies the last time they played, before this. It was 10 years ago at the benefit show for AK Press w/Green Day and Bobby Joe Ebola. I don’t know if it was due to my familiarity with their material now, but this show totally blew me away. So much energy. Kudos to Larry Boothroyd for filling in on bass for the set.
The most heart warming moment that I have seen at a show in years happened during this set. Mike’s (guitar/vocals) 3 daughters were side stage, dancing along and singing along with the songs. They were probably not old enough to enjoy the experience 10 years ago. It was really cool.
The only downside to the night was the audio. I mean, Schoeps mics are really good quality, but I usually get either a board tape or multitrack stubs to mix down. They changed their setup and neither were available on this night. Bummer. Sounds decent in the room.

Subhumans- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 4/18/25 4K UHD Multicam w/Schoeps Audio England Anarcho Punk

Today has been pure chaos and it is only 9am! I just need to get to Aftershock by noon and all will be ok. Let’s do the collections post first today. This is the last of the BOB Fest videos that I shot, and what a show! The only nitpicky issue I have is with the gopro on the bass player, it is a bit off center but you need to guess when you set these things up and I guessed wrong.

Sorry to Dick- I promised him that I would have a multitrack audio mix for this, but Gilman changed their policy on that which is why this was all audience audio. Still not bad, it sounded good in the room.

Tension Span- 924 Gilman, Berkeley 4/18/25 4k UHD Multicam w/Schoeps Audio Neurosis Christ on Parade

Here’s one from my collection that I video’d back in April. Only 4 and 1/2 months behind on posting masters!

This Gilman show was one of the most anticipated shows of the year for me. I had been trying to see Tension Span for a while, but they don’t play often. They opened this absolutely packed lineup (w/Scene Killers, Enemies, Subhumans). I got there early and awkwardly hung out, as per usual.

This band is amazing and anyone who is into any of Noah’s or the other member’s work should stop and listen to this. You can hear shades of Christ on Parade and Neurosis in these songs.
Here’s what discogs says about the band: Formed by Noah Landis (Neurosis) (vocals), Matt Parrillo (Dystopia, Kicker) (guitar, bass, analogue synths, vocals) and Geoff Evans (Skaven, Asunder) (guitar, soft synths).

I forgot to post video today and I need to head out asap, so I will make this quick. No board tape because the bands brought their own soundboard, so you get audience audio only for this one. Bummer.

Annihilation Time- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 11/26/23 4K UHD Multicam with Multitrack Audio Incomplete

I previously posted my schoeps audio recording of this show and wrote about how amazing this show was- the band was on fire and the crowd was going nuts. Now that I finally learned to mix multitracks, here is the video. It turned out pretty good. The only issue is that 8 minutes of the show is missing from this version- the hard drive at Gilman that stores the multitrack files filled up and stopped recording during Annihilation Time’s set. We missed about 8 minutes in the middle of the show. If anyone is dying to see the full multicam with 8 minutes of inferior audio in the middle, let me know. I can post it but it would be a pain in the ass to splice it all together.
Hope you like the mix. Maybe I should have bumped the snare up a bit.
