When this show was announced, I was planning to go so I checked out Abolitionist’s bandcamp page. I noticed that these guys recorded in Stan Wright’s (Arctic Flowers) studio which caused my ears to perk up. And, wow. Just when you think that you’ve heard it all… these guys defy categorization. They played way louder than the Colony’s PA could handle. I thought it looked funny that the guys were fruitlessly screaming into mics, but listening to instrumental versions of these songs made me realize how strong they were. I bought every tape & LP they had. LISTEN. Great stuff. PS: Bonus points to the drummer’s old school, late 70’s iron maiden shirt. Dianno rules.

Man, I was so excited to see this show. I am glad I made the trek over to Gilman because the Sacramento show was cancelled. Recorded with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10 and 1 gopro hero 4 silver. I messed up a bit and the G10 angle from the floor and the G30 angle from the old sound booth are a little too similar… but it turned out nice anyway. We opted for audience mic since the soundboard had ZERO bass. Like, none. Edited by my friend Agelos. Thank you again.

I’m glad I was able to make it out to Old I and see this great lineup earlier this year: Watt/Toys that Kill/Bananas. This was the first time I got to see The Bananas, after all these years. Good set. I learned that Old I is a tough place to multicam in. Thanks to Jim McLain for the use of his angle(it is the center angle from the ceiling mount), Jason Ellis for use of his Schoeps audio recordings, and Agelos for the edits. Enjoy!
