Here’s the last demo by The Borman Six. I can’t seem to find the pictures I took of Greg Dean’s B6 cassettes, so if anyone can help out there, I would appreciate it.
B6 were:
Bass – Glenn Chadwick
Drums – Richard Shepherd (2)
Guitar – Hugh Howard
Keyboards – Jason Ogden
Saxophone, Percussion – Tony Passarell
Vocals – Kevin Y.P. Lee (who plays guitar on Rebel Truth’s 7″)

Another late upload. I am waiting to hear from the light rail studios people about this webcast- it starts in 15min and I have no Skype login credentials! I hope I made the cut.
Anyway, here is the Crimpshrine show that I taped from The Place in Davis back in 1988. That Montgomery Ward boombox had some pretty decent mics- these recordings always surprise me when I pull them out.

Alright people, you really need to stop the ties with the Patreon weekly votes. It forces me to choose, or it doubles my workload. Hopefully getting the vote off that crappy eballot and onto the Patreon platform will help.
This one was only 5 minutes long, so I’ll do both winners this time. One today, one tomorrow. We had some fun with this one- I went to the lookout records group and asked for bands to include. Then I plucked some shows from my list and friends’ lists. Surprised MTX struck out with so many people asking for it on the fb group. Guess we need more voters from there.

Here is a little bit of trivia for you Sacramento folks- before becoming a well-known and respected concert promoter, Brian McKenna taped a few shows back in the late 80s. For today’s On This Day in History, here is one of them.
I tried to find a good image for this one, and there is no record of this show online anywhere. No concert poster, flyer or image. I had never even heard of the Circle Star Theater before digitizing Brian’s tape. I decided to grab this article from the L.A. times for the show the day before this one. It gives a good overview of who they are.

I didn’t think I would get a chance to post something today, after spending all night (until 1:30am) prepping stuff for tomorrow’s benefit webcast AND work kicking my ass today. You can thank Todd Pritchard- he came over last December and pulled this tape out to be digitized, and I happened to have it on a DVD here. 10min later, it’s up.
Jason from Isocracy calls out a distinguished guest in the crowd… JED BREWER! I had to listen to it twice to be sure I heard that right. Worlds colliding.

I pulled this tape for today’s On The Day in History post. I have had this tape since the late 80s (tape #872 lands it at about 1988/9 time frame), but I don’t know the lineage of the tape. It must be somewhat hard to find, as it isn’t online anywhere. It might have come from Ron Quintana or another old school metal tape trader since Diamond Head’s set at Reading in 82 was at the end of the tape. I really wish I kept better track of the people I traded with.
Anyway, it’s an average sounding audience recording for the time. I EQ’d out some light distortion and it sounds alright. It’s listenable.
If anyone knows who taped it, let me know.
