Here’s the Bananas’ set, opening for Flipper last Friday. The banter in between songs is pretty damned funny. Sorry for the lighting- it was challenging. At least it sounds good, thanks to AJ.

Second on the bill were The Bananas. They were totally bananas! I forgot to mention- Blue Lamp has new lighting thanks to AJ and the rest of the folks there and it looks great!

I’ll admit it- I kinda screwed up the soundboard rebalance on this one. I swear, it sounded great at the time! I buried Mike’s vocals a bit too much and they have an odd/limited sound to them. Sorry. Great show, probably my best Bananas video.

I’m glad I was able to make it out to Old I and see this great lineup earlier this year: Watt/Toys that Kill/Bananas. This was the first time I got to see The Bananas, after all these years. Good set. I learned that Old I is a tough place to multicam in. Thanks to Jim McLain for the use of his angle(it is the center angle from the ceiling mount), Jason Ellis for use of his Schoeps audio recordings, and Agelos for the edits. Enjoy!
It looks like there’s a bunch of offerings from these guys here on SMA, so I’m please to have discovered this trawling through my playlists of all live recordings from the Hemlock Tavern in mid-October 2005. Seems to only be these two tracks.
Thanks to Charles Albright for the footage and Ken Doose for helping me ID the bands.
Here is some video clips from the Crest a while back.
Bands are(in order):
The Knightmares (maybe)
Riff Randals
The Stupid Jerks
Rock the Light
The Bananas
Here’s a tape from Charles Albright’s collection. I’m not sure if he taped it, but it looks like it is a copy close to the master tape. And THIS is the old Press Club that I remember- decent lighting, but the pre-remodel layout.. which I like better.
