Terror- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 3/16/18 Multicam Hardcore

Now that I have found a few good spots to place the cameras, these Gilman videos are turning out pretty good. This show was like one of the old shows there- it was so packed that it was like walking into a gross punk rock body sweat sauna. Yuck.

Jesus Piece- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 3/16/18 Canon HFG30 Tripod Stock Mic

Whenever I do multicam at Gilman, it is a workout. Climb the ladder to mount 1 camera on the top of the ladder leaning against the wall, haul the tripod and backpack up into the old soundbooth/crows nest to put up the tripod, etc. Since it is so hard to get up there, I just leave the G30 running up there. I luckily was able to catch Jesus Piece’s set with the G30. The camera does not move and it is recorded with the stock mic, but it still ain’t bad.

Mr. T Experience MTX- Starry Plough, Berkeley Ca. 12/10/17 LIVE Multicam

Here’s the headlining act from Aaron’s 50th Birthday Bash at the Starry Plough- MTX! It was so fun getting back to the starry plough- I had not been there since the early 2000’s. I think the last time was for a Slobberbone or Rhett Miller solo show. The staff was super nice and the sound person was cool. MTX were great as usual, I always feel so lucky to be able to see them as often as I do. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10, and 1 Gopro Hero5. SBD/Adience matrix courtesy of Jason Ellis, Edit Courtesy of Agelos. Thanks to Aaron for the invite, for the food & drink, and generosity in general. Enjoy!

Krudwerk- Starry Plough, Berkeley Ca. 12/10/17 Aaron Rubin’s 50th! LIVE Multicam

So Aaron turned 50 and they threw a big party at Starry Plough in his honor. It was like an Aaron-fest! MTX, Bye Bye Blackbirds, and first up is The Mighty Krudwerk. Krudwerk includes Aaron’s son Ben Rubin and some of his schoolmates at 3 O’Clock Rock. They performed a set of many favorites and one really good original song. Aaron comes up to belt out vocals on one song as well. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10, and 1 Gopro Hero5. SBD/Adience matrix courtesy of Jason Ellis, Edit Courtesy of Agelos. Comeback Kid- Cornerstone, Berkeley Ca. 10/8/17 Multicam w/ Rode Video Pro Stereo Audio

Man, the traffic between Sacramento and the Bay Area keeps getting worse. It took about 3 hours to get to the show, so I arrived too late to try for a soundboard patch. That’s a bummer, because the board tapes sound amazing. I did learn a few things from the first time I filmed here- tripods in the balcony DO NOT work- there is way too much vibration up there. These angles are pole mounted and much better. I also repositioned the gopro to show half band, half crowd. MUCH better. The food is decent at cornerstone and the beer selection is excellent- the best of any venue I have ever seen. Parking sucks, but it is worth a visit. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30’s (1 pole mount, 1 monopod operated by me), 1 HFG10(pole mount) and 1 gopro side stage. Enjoy!
