Bobby Joe Ebola & The Children MacNuggits – Luigi’s Fungarden, Sacramento, CA 09-26-09
Here’s a video of Bobby Joe Ebola & The Children MacNuggits live at Luigi’s Fungarden in 2009. I believe this is their first show back in Sacramento since reforming in 2009. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend this show due to catching the flu a few days before the show. Bobby Joe Ebola is one of my favorite bands, so it really hurt not being able to go the show. Thankfully, my friend videotaped it.

Band 1- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 9/27/09 xfer f/master C.H.T. Amply Hostile Captain Advice T.O.F.U.
I need some help from you all today. I might need help more than once on this show. There is no documentation of this show at all online, but thanks to Killessa Crash, we have the full lineup. I posted the Secretions’ set a while back and this band is one of the following 3 bands:
Amply Hostile
Captain Advice
Burrito Butt Burgers
EDIT: Ilya helped rule out 2 of the 5 bands. Thanks!
I checked the start and end of this set and had no luck identifying the band. Please help. The reward for helping is my eternal gratitude.

Collections post, and we are keepin’ it Sacramento today! When I was digging through Pat Wright’s seemingly endless cache of DVDs, this one popped out at me. the DVD was labeled “secretions, etc” so I figured that I would find a flyer.. or a monthly calendar… or an entry on steve’s SF list.. or on Newspapers dot com… or in Brian Edge’s book…
NOPE. There is no info AT ALL about the full lineup at this show. If anyone has a flyer or knows who else played, it would help me a lot. Let me know!
My favorite part of this one is the awesome office chair pit happening. It’s most visible during the last song, which happens to be a Motorhead cover

BOBBY JOE EBOLA & THE CHILDREN MACNUGGITS – Luigi’s Fungarden, Sacramento, CA 09-26-09
I was going thru some old discs and found this old video of BOBBY JOE EBOLA & THE CHILDREN MAGNUGGITS filmed at Luigi’s Fungarden in 2009. This is the one BJE show that I missed due to me having the flu really bad. Thankfully, my buddy Cory taped it and I was able to watch it later. And now, I’m able to share it with you with his kind permission. Taped by Cory Wiegert.

Byron Blackburn’s Labor Day Session 9/7/09 Rare independent release CD Tony Passarell Free Jazz
I debated posting this one from Tony Passarell’s collection since it is an official release, but it seems pretty hard to find so I went ahead.
By the way, if you are not watching the world baseball classic or the awards show and you like jazz, you should head out to Musiclandria since Tony’s son Charlie is doing an Anime Aliens saxophone set. He is working tirelessly to get a lively jazz scene happening here.

The Thermals- Beatnik Studios, Sacramento Ca 9/3/09 Sbd/Aud Matrix Complete Show Hutch Harris
I was going to try to synch an old posies video from bumbershoot to soundboard audio for today’s On This Date in History, but the disc is in a place that I can’t get to now. Sigh. Already tired of having one arm.
Here is one that anonymous recorded. I was at the show, but this was during that 10 year span when I wasn’t taping much. He did a great job on this- putting mics on the stage lip along with recording soundboard audio. This is done to ensure that you get clean vocals plus all the instruments through one of the 2 sources. It works every time! Well, except this time. There was no guitar anywhere– not in the room, not in the board mix. I did my best to bump it up a little in Izotope, but even then it is a bit light on guitar. Still enjoyable.
