Here’s an outdoor street party show from Mike Parisi’s bag of VHS tapes. He was the drummer in this late-era version of IGD. They played on the back of a flatbed truck- Mike said his back was up against the cab of the truck. It looks like one hell of a party- everyone looks hammered. Clearly this isn’t the complete set, but nice to see such good quality video of Jimmie. R.I.P. Jimmie Couch

My long-time friend Mike Parisi dropped some VHS tapes off with me a couple weeks back. Mike was in I.G.D. in the 1990s- the band had the original lineup (with Matt Polish, Mike Kingsbury, Jimmie Couch, and Don Segur) which broke up. Jimmie then resurrected the band with new members with a new sound- they even had a scratch man. Members here are Jimmie (guitar), Scott “crash” Hale on bass, Mike Parisi on drums and Tony Gomez doing the DJ duties. Too bad only 13min was filmed- it would be nice if it was longer…

It’s Friday, so it’s video day! Here is another one from Mike Parisi’s VHS collection. This looks like a halloween house party. Camera person does a decent job of videotaping the show.

Here’s one that the old Sacramento punks and friends of Jimmie Couch will enjoy. Studio footage with IGD as they were recording their 1997 demo. It looks to be from Paradise Studios since there is a Cake Fashion Nugget gold record on the wall. Probably the most footage I have ever seen of Jimmie just hanging out. There are some songs being worked up as well. Cool. From Mike Parisi’s collection

I almost forget to post today- the kids have been sick so I have been tending to them this weekend… and now I have a headache, right in time for the work week. Yay. Only 14 more daily posts and I will have met the 2023 post-a-day goal. After double-checking this one, I should have enhanced/brightened it. Those bright moving lights fooled me into thinking it was lit better than it actually was. I might go back and fix it later… Another one frm Mike Parisi’s collection

These guys were friends of mine, and this show was a huge deal at the time. They were the opening act for Kreator and D.R.I. for a Stewart Katz (Clear and DIstinct) show. Look at young Stew. Awww.
Here’s another one from Mark Murray’s collection. Roseville used to get away with so much stuff. Check out this episode- it has it all. Drunkeness, profanity and more. I love how Matt from IGD comes out strong- jumping up and down like crazy. Then, about 3 minutes in, he is so winded that he can’t sing. HA HA!
Today is the day of Jimmie Couch’s celebration of life. If you were a friend of Jimmie, his wife Karen has arranged a get together at 7504 Greenburn Dr in Roseville. It starts soon, at 1pm. Here is a pretty terrible quality video of IGD from the show I put on at Spanky’s in 1987. I am very thankful to Damon & Mick Brindle for bringing the family video camera so we had a document of the show. When I transferred the show, the audio was complete static. I did not have time to troubleshoot it and the audio track is total distortion anyway. On top of that, the video has many cuts in between so doing a proper audio synch would be a nightmare. So, I just laid the un-synchronized soundboard audio track over the top of the video. I tried to crank up the guitar and bass via Izotope but it just isn’t in the mix. Maybe one day someone will have the patience to give this the proper treatment. R.I.P. Jimmie Couch and Mike Kingsbury.

This recording is terrible. It also contains offensive content. The mix was almost all vocals and the vocals distorted. I did what I can with the mix to bring the vocal and distortion down in the mix…But that’s not why I am posting it. This was the first show I ever “promoted”. I made some calls and brought Condemned Attitude to town back in early 1987. I was a huge Attitude Adjustment fan, so bringing these guys to Sac was a huge treat. I was managing I.G.D. at the time, so I pushed the club booking agent to get them on the bill. Day of show comes and Jimmy calls me to tell me that Matt (vocalist) quit and they are not playing. I FREAK OUT and start yelling that this is my first show ever promoting and to get their asses down to the club. So, Jimmy, Don, Mike and fill in vocalist Stan show up late to the club. One of them is on hallucinogens, and Stan also doesn’t know the songs. He does his best and quits about 10 minutes into the set. It was an unmitigated disaster. The cool thing about the set is that Mike Kingsbury actually sang a song- he never did that! Vonni Groccia sings a song at the end as well. Amazingly, I was allowed to promote another show with Condemned Attitude there in April of 87. IGD did not play that one.
