Freature- Concerts in the Park, Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sacramento 6/28/19 HD Live Video Master

The guys in Freature invited me out to CIP to film the show, so I went for the first time in a couple years. Man, is it different now- very catered to the young party set. The band gave me a backstage pass, so I was able to get by the guard whose 1 job was to keep people from getting back there. He even moved like a gate!
Freature are awesome and they seem to be getting better over time. The sound was absolutely killer- nice job Ira.
The smoke made it look like someone was having a cookout behind the band. 😀

Little Tents- Concerts in the Park, Sacramento Ca. 6/10/16 #CIP2016 Pt. 1

I wanted to wait until we had better audio for this one, but I will post it again once we are able to mix the soundboard with this mic. Little Tents are playing their second to last show EVER tonight at Starlite. You need to go. Here is their appearance at concerts in the park this year. Sorry the audio is not as good as others- in short, I blew it. They were great as always. One of the best bands in sac right now. Unfortunately, they did not turn on the lower mains so you get very little vocals on the video. Check their EP posted in comments for good quality audio of them

Groovie Ghoulies- Cesar Chavez Plaza, Concerts in the Park, Sacramento Ca. 7/28/06

Jim Says:

This video brings back lots of memories for me. My camera was starting to have problems and so my video has glitches in it. Riding my bike home after the show I was “doored” and smashed my shoulder. My backpack with all my recording gear was thrown into the middle of the street. Took me 2 days to realize I needed to go to the E.R. and then had to stay home and keep my arm in a sling for a week. Needless to say, I didn’t make it to the show later that night. Thanks Shayne for your camera angle, makes a huge difference on this one!

Shayne says:

I did not film most, if any, of this show. I handed the camera to my 11 year old and he did his thing. It’s a miracle that Jim was able to edit it together to make his work look decent. This was their last CIP. 😦

Go National- Concerts in the Park, Cesar Chavez Plaza 8/2/02 Audio only sbd w/ Jonah Matranga Far

Here’s a show that I had no recollection of even being there, and then a bunch of memories came back to me after listening to it. I attended/recorded 2 Go National shows at CIP- one at the Miller Park location in 2000 and this one in 2002. I am not sure if this picture is from the actual 2002 show, but since it is the only Go National CIP photo I had ever seen, it is shown here. Includes a short unannounced bonus set by Jonah Matranga from Far at the end.

Recorded by: Shayne Stacy (I think Jim Mclain recorded as well)
Recording equipment used: Sony TCD-D7 DAT in soundboard
Transfer equipment: Sony PCMR500 and M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card
Rebalance in Izotope rx7 (bass, drums, guitar +3)

Groovie Ghoulies- Concerts in the Park, Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sacramento 8/2/02 Sbd from Master DAT

Man, this is a great performance. The band’s parents were there along with just about the entire Sacramento punk scene, and you could tell that they were pumped. It sounds like they just returned from tour. This is one of the longest CIP sets I had ever heard.
The board mix was good to start, but I played around with it in Izotope and I like it even better now.
Features a Monkees cover- R.I.P. nez.
Jim, did you shoot video? I only have this DAT soundboard.
