Kepi & Friends- Mraz, El Dorado Hills Ca 10/19/22 4K Multicam Fun in the Dark Set Groovie Ghoulies

Here is another one from Kepi’s run of shows through the Sacramento area last year, at about this time. This show is pretty special to me- this is the first rock show that my son attended. Well, he went and saw RAD back when he was a toddler, but he didn’t really understand what was happening. He was so stoked about this show, he bought a shirt (that he has worn about 50 times) and wants to play guitar. Kepi is still influencing the kids- such a positive influence and nice intro into the punk rock world. Thanks Kepi!
You can see me in one of the gopro shots filming and hanging out with him- that’s pretty cool.
Another reason why this is a special show is the setlist- Kepi performed the Fun in the Dark album along with some fan favorites at the end… I think… it has been a while since I was there.
I also love the tree mounted camera with the leaves in the way. Very earthy shot.

Kepi Ghoulie- The Side Door, Sacramento Ca. 6/12/21 Early Set Groovie Ghoulies 4K UHD Lumix GH5S

It’s the triumphant return of Kepi to a live concert setting! After a year plus of playing to an iphone (and a few backyard shows), this is the first concert Kepi played in a year-plus. It was a lot of fun! Kepi also played set, but I had to head home. I’ll do the multi-set thing next time.

Kepi Ghoulie Electric- Blue Lamp, Sacramento 9/20/19 Multicam w/ Soundboard Audio B-Face Roy Muffs!

I am cleaning and archiving hundreds of multicam MP4’s from my hard drive, and I stumbled across this one. We never posted it at the time, then I forgot about it. This is a special show with Kepi, B-Face AND Roy McDonald from the Muffs doing a full band set! Great set full of Kepi and Ghoulies classics.
On a side note, I was going to ask Roy about The Muffs and when they were going to tour, but I got busy filming MTX… Kim passed away a couple weeks after this show. It was probably for the best that I missed him.

This show was mixed before I had the ability to matrix my own audio, or rebelance it in Izotope… the mix is “OK”, but it could have been better. Oh well.

Kepi Ghoulie- Harlow’s, Sacramento Ca. 5/11/19 4K HD Master Sony A7Sii Appetite for Adrenochrome Pt2

Here’s part 2. I need to find an MP4 file joiner so I can upload these in 4k as one file. The Sony is a notorious battery hog and I learned that you only get about 45min on a fully charged battery. Sorry for the gap- battery change.

I wasn’t planning on going to this show(I had family obligations), but Brian asked me to help with video projection, and Kepi announced that he was doing a special show with old songs. I did not know that Kepi was doing the ENTIRE Appetite for Adrenochrome album! Awesome! Not only that, but he had the all-star band of B-Face on bass and Jaz Brown on Drums. What a great show!! Thanks guys for the super unique show.
Since I decided to come last-minute and Jim McLain had the multicamera video duties all covered, I decided to bring my new 4k DSLR camera to test it out. It was so new to me that I pulled the lens out of the shipping box while driving. I had no idea how to hell to use the camera and you can tell during anton barbeau’s set. I finally got it to an acceptable level after fiddling around with the controls while Anton was playing.

Secretions- Luigi’s, Sacramento Ca 11/17/12 HD Master Groovie Ghoulies Cover Set!

Quite a while back, Danny had bands play full cover sets of other bands during his F*ck Cancer show. The Secretions played and covered The Groovie Ghoulies for 45min. They did a great job, and it was fun to hear the songs live again. At this point, the Ghoulies had been broken up since 2007 and I don’t recall Kepi playing any electric sets with Ghoulies songs, so this was a rare treat.
Also, I missed posting yesterday. Now that I can enhance video, add better audio, and now do AI upscaling (new PC!), every video I check needs work before posting. Also, the holidays are packing my family schedule so I don’t have enough time to work them. Audio is fast and I can put one up every day. I will try my best to work a backlog of video uploads. I think I have better audio for this one and this could have used a degrain, but just went ahead and posted it because it is still awesome.

The Haints- Capitol Bowl, West Sacramento Ca. 4/27/07 Audio recording DPA AT mics Groovie Ghoulies

This might be the last Haints show ever. I checked concert archives, and the last show on there is the 3/17/07 show I posted on Sunday. It sounds great- anonymous did a nice job with these sets. Fun fact- Kepi announced this show at the Shaker’s show, but he said it was at Javalounge. It must have been moved for some reason.
Kepi mentions Alyssa on drums for the first song, then Scampi (Nora) after 1 or 2 songs. Lys, did you make a Special Guest Star appearance?
