Alright, this one is a bit weird and personal so bear with me. My mom passed away on 8/11/06 after a year-plus “battle” with cancer(I hate that term). I was her only child so I had the responsibility of caring for her and arranging care, plus I was a single dad AND working in tech. I didn’t sleep much from 2005-2006 for sure. Huge thanks to my family (especially Aunt Terri) or there was no way I could have done it.
My life was consumed with Mom, work and caring for the kids and then it was just… over, overnight. Kids went to their mom’s, and the next day I was sitting at home (in Orangevale) not wanting to be alone. So I went to this show. I still remember me being a bit numb and seeing friends I had not seen for a while. They asked how I was doing and I would say (with eyes glazed over, zombie like) “my mom died yesterday”. I should probably apologize to Kepi and the rest for that. Haha.
Anyway, this is the last time I got to see the Ghoulies. They play a bunch of songs in this set that I have never heard them play elsewhere.
One last thing- the Groovie Ghoulies have partnered with Anxious and Angry (GREAT shirt/music shop in the midwest) to re-issue some of their shirts! I don’t think they are out yet, but you might want to follow them for updates. I have bought a lot of stuff from A&A over the years, great folks.

Jim Says:
This video brings back lots of memories for me. My camera was starting to have problems and so my video has glitches in it. Riding my bike home after the show I was “doored” and smashed my shoulder. My backpack with all my recording gear was thrown into the middle of the street. Took me 2 days to realize I needed to go to the E.R. and then had to stay home and keep my arm in a sling for a week. Needless to say, I didn’t make it to the show later that night. Thanks Shayne for your camera angle, makes a huge difference on this one!
Shayne says:
I did not film most, if any, of this show. I handed the camera to my 11 year old and he did his thing. It’s a miracle that Jim was able to edit it together to make his work look decent. This was their last CIP. 🙁

As I have been doing the “every venue in sacramento” video posting project, I realized that I have not posted anything older from Old I. Here’s a ghoulies show from 2005, with Scampi on drums. I thought that this was the show that Jon Von from MTX got on stage with them, but I can’t tell. Special appearance by my son, asking me to help him with the bar arcade machine during “time warp”. Filmed with a DV camera & stock mic.

Good morning! I am starting to get back into a rhythm of posting stuff, now that the move is done. I know a lot of people have asked for things- I’ll get to those as I find them. Things are still a bit disorganized. Here is a Groovie Ghoulies set , opening for 7 seconds at the Boardwalk in 2005. I don’t think I ever shared this before. Filmed with a higher end DV camera with stock mic (don’t remember the model).

Kepi announced something on his facebook page today- it is a cool new thing called “99 Lives”, which is a limited membership program through Patreon. A maximum of 99 people will be allowed and he performs daily for you. Sounds cool. Check his page if you are interested.
Here is a show I filmed back in 2005, and it could be the most “on” I have ever seen them. We don’t get a chance in Sacramento to see the touring machine that were the Ghoulies. We would see one off shows during breaks in touring. They are firing on all cylinders here- it bums me out that they only had a 30min set. I could have taken an hour set, easy!
