The Proletariat- Blackwater, Portland Or. 3/25/17 Multicam with Matrix Audio

This one turned out really nice. This was part of the crazy Portland-Seattle-Tacoma-Portland trip I made in March to see 3 Proletariat shows over 24 hours. This was the last show of the 3- after playing underground venues for the first 2, this venue seemed like a palace. A real bar, a real PA, and real lighting. Great set by the band as well. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10 and a Gopro behind the drummer. Thanks to Agelos for the great edit and to Jason Ellis for the Soundboard/DPA 4061mic audience matrix.

Arctic Flowers- Blackwater, Portland Or. 3/25/17 Multicam with Matrix Audio

Here is the 4 camera multicam of Arctic Flowers, opening for THe Proletariat in Portland. What a cool little club- good sound, good lighting. I think the audio mix on this one turned out a bit better than The Proletariat. The soundboard mix was better to start. Thanks to Agelos for the edit and Jason Ellis for the audio matrix.

D Generation- Doug Fir Lounge, Portland Or. 8/30/16 1080p master w/Rode audio RIP Howie Pyro

So I went to play this video on the sac music archive yesterday(I posted it in 2016) and I realized that I posted the file with 90 seconds of no music from before the concert, rather than the concert itself. So here it is for the first time, I guess.
I have so many friends who knew Howie and the tributes have been amazing- what a life. I regret not meeting him.
Here is the original note from the 2016 listing:

I have been getting lucky lately on my business trips to Portland. Last time I was up, Venom Inc happened to be playing and this time D Generation was playing Doug Fir Lounge. I know some of their material, but not all of it.. they were AMAZING. They are one of those bands who has such mastery of the songs that they just melt your face with a nonstop wall of energy for an hour-plus. REALLY great. The only downside of the video is there is a slight vibration that I did not notice while filming & looking at the small camera screen. I should have known, as the steps I was standing on were hollow. Dammit. Filmed with Canon HFG30 and Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic.

Venom Inc- Star Theater, Portland Or. 6/20/16 Canon HFG30 and Rode Video Pro Mic

I go to Portland a lot for business and there is usually nothing good playing when I go, since I go during the week. This week, I was surprised to see Venom Inc playing on a Monday night, so I went. When I pulled in to downtown to park, I saw Ground Kontrol Arcade, so I knew this was going to be a fun night. Venom inc is Mantas on guitar, Abaddon on drums, and a Demolition Man on bass and guitar(he was on the Prime Evil album, I think). The set consists of material entirely from their first 2 LPs and EPs from that same time frame, except for 1 track. It was WAY better than I expected. SO GREAT. I forgot how much I loved these evil bastards. The vocals are a bit buried in the mix, but they were that way the enitre night. In fact, I was right in front of the PA, about 30 feet back. Still great though.

Arctic Flowers- Sub-Versions Skate Shop and Records, Sacramento CA 2/11/16

A couple of songs by Portland, OR band Arctic Flowers. Fans of Ötzi or Crimson Scarlet are well-advised to give them a listen.

The first one is one called “The Fool”.

The second (unidentified to date in the clip) is one called “Glass On Ice”, which is on their 2018 album “Straight To The Hunter”.

Brothers of the Sonic Cloth- Ash Street Saloon, Portland, Or. 2009? Tad Doyle xfer from 8mm master

Here’s another video courtesy of Craig Babb, and it’s a pretty special one. This appears to be the earliest BOTSC footage out there. This was years before they were signed to Neurot, and around the time they released a 2 song CDR demo. Very cool, thanks Craig!

Mudhoney- Sabala’s Portland, OR 12/1/06 xfer from 8mm master video with improved Nakamichi CM300 Aud

Here is an upgrade of one of Craig Babb’s videos I posted a few months ago. It has some great footage but the audio was distorted pretty badly. I saw someone post their recording of the show using nakamichi cm-300 mics and it sounds amazing! I asked Derek Purtell to help me synch this (not easy with 2 analog sources with cuts) and he did a great job as usual.

Thanks to the taper who gave the ok for his audio to be used.
