I.G.D.- Berkeley, Ca. 2000 Xfer from band VHS tape Enhanced Infectious Garage Disease IGD

Here’s an outdoor street party show from Mike Parisi’s bag of VHS tapes. He was the drummer in this late-era version of IGD. They played on the back of a flatbed truck- Mike said his back was up against the cab of the truck. It looks like one hell of a party- everyone looks hammered. Clearly this isn’t the complete set, but nice to see such good quality video of Jimmie.

I.G.D.- Bojangles, Sacramento Ca Late 1990s xfer f/ band VHS tape Enhanced Infectious Garage Disease

This one was stuck in my drafts for a couple years. Glad I found it!

I think this is one of the last IGD videos from Mike Parisi’s stuff, if not the last one. Thanks to Mike and the band for documenting so much of this era. There are only 2 videos of the 1980s IGD era- mine from Danceteria and the cable TV appearance. Good to see Jimmie in all of these.
There was no date on this one, but given the bands activity and the years that Bojangles reopened for concerts, this is probably 1998 or 1999.

I.G.D.- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 5/1/98 xfer from band VHS tape enhanced Infectious Garage Disease

My long-time friend Mike Parisi dropped some VHS tapes off with me a couple weeks back. Mike was in I.G.D. in the 1990s- the band had the original lineup (with Matt Polish, Mike Kingsbury, Jimmie Couch, and Don Segur) which broke up. Jimmie then resurrected the band with new members with a new sound- they even had a scratch man. Members here are Jimmie (guitar), Scott “crash” Hale on bass, Mike Parisi on drums and Tony Gomez doing the DJ duties. Too bad only 13min was filmed- it would be nice if it was longer…

IGD- House Party, Sacramento 10/25/97 xfer f/band VHS Tape Enhanced I.G.D. Infectious Garage Disease

It’s Friday, so it’s video day! Here is another one from Mike Parisi’s VHS collection. This looks like a halloween house party. Camera person does a decent job of videotaping the show.

IGD- Studio Footage 8/2/97 xfer from band VHS tape enhanced I.G.D. Infectious Garage Disease

Here’s one that the old Sacramento punks and friends of Jimmie Couch will enjoy. Studio footage with IGD as they were recording their 1997 demo. It looks to be from Paradise Studios since there is a Cake Fashion Nugget gold record on the wall. Probably the most footage I have ever seen of Jimmie just hanging out. There are some songs being worked up as well. Cool.

I.G.D.- House Party 4/24/97 xfer from band VHS tape enhanced I.G.D. Infectious Garage Disease

I almost forget to post today- the kids have been sick so I have been tending to them this weekend… and now I have a headache, right in time for the work week. Yay. Only 14 more daily posts and I will have met the 2023 post-a-day goal.
After double-checking this one, I should have enhanced/brightened it. Those bright moving lights fooled me into thinking it was lit better than it actually was. I might go back and fix it later…

I.G.D.- 2nd Level, Sacramento Ca. 9/25/87 xfer from master cassette Infectious Garage Disease

Another late post today. I had a different post planned, but we got the awful news about Jimmie Couch passing away unexpectedly so I pulled this out and digitized it this morning in his honor. I don’t have much IGD that is great quality- since Jimmie played with so much stage volume, all of my board tapes have a poor mix. This audience tape is the only one that has him prominent. I’ll try to post the IGD video from Spanky’s in 1987 if I get time this weekend.
His laid back demeanor, his kindness, and his sense of humor made him everyone’s friend. I wish I could have spent more time with him.
Jimmie’s wife is having a celebration of life on 11/12 in Roseville.
