The Moans- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 11/6/21 Live 4k UHD Ramones Cover F Cancer show punk

For the first time since 2019, Danny Reynoso held his series of F Cancer shows around town. I already posted the Gene Chowder set from Powerhouse, here are a couple of sets from last Saturday’s show. It was nice to see so many friends- it was like a scene reunion.
This was the Moans first show since the before times. Special guest appearance by Tim Williamson, doing the lead vocals on a ramones cover. The series of shows raised almost $4k and Danny is selling a very limited quantity of some of the shirts. Check them out- you’re gonna want one. Link in comments.

Danny Reynoso- Holy Diver, Sacramento Ca. 10/5/21 Solo set with The Knockoffs, Secretions Songs GH5S

First off, here is a PSA for you- you will want to either subscribe to the http://www.sacramentomusicarchive.com website email alerts list, or join the sacramento music archive facebook group. Just today, one of our friends posted a Misfits set from Aftershock this past weekend. You’re not going to hear about it on the 3 cameras and a microphone YT channel, so go check it out there!
So, what does this have to do with my good friend Danny? He opened for Bobby Steele’s (Misfits) band The Undead solo back in 2018. In fact, I think this show and the 2018 show may be the only ones he has done solo.
Fun set which includes choice covers and some songs from his bands. The biggest crowd reaction came during “3 Chords and a F*ck You” (Secretions), which was cool to see. Man, their popularity has endured.

The Knockoffs, The Moans, Joshua Thompson- F*ck Cancer Online benefit 11/11/20

Danny Reynoso/Secretion has really outdone himself this time. In pre-Covid times, he would produce a week of shows- usually 4 or 5 nights of great local bands to in honor of his father, to benefit American Cancer Society. He is doing these online this year- the first happened on Wednesday night, so you will see them posted/archived here a couple of days after they are posted.

Includes a cool interview with local DJ/promoter Andy Hawk

You can order the benefit shirt online from Nov 11-30, check it out!

Joe Queer w/ The Moans- All Queers Pop Punk Set, Cafe Colonial, Sac 11/9/19 4K UHD

OK, this is going to be long.

TLDR version: The audio on this is horrible for the 1st 4 minutes, and fair for the next 10min. Fwd to 15:00ish if you can’t handle it.

Long version:
Man, what a crazy night. Danny flew Joe out to play a set of songs that he hasn’t played for about 20 years… which included a bunch of my favorites! About 20 minutes before they started, they moved the venue from Colonial Theater to Cafe Colonial. I had 7 cameras set up the the Theater and a recorder in the soundboard. So I had to do a mad scramble to grab 4 of the 7 to use at the cafe, and pack the other 3. I just left my tripods at the theater.
So they start the set and the volume is WAY louder at the cafe than the theater, so my camera’s levels were maxing badly for the first song. I was able to stop the camera and drop the levels, but they were still a bit distorted until the PA calmed down at about 15:00.
The set is great. Must watch.
After the show, I went to get my tripods, digital recorder etc and they LOCKED US OUT of the theater. Thankfully, AJ grabbed the valuable stuff. I was able to find Danny and we were all able to get our stuff out of there. That was the first time I ever had a bunch of cameras just tossed in the back of the car, loose.

Joe Queer & The Moans- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca. 11/9/19 4cam Multicam

Here is the multicamera version of the Joe Queer w/ the Moans show from a few weeks back. I know I complained about the last minute venue move when I posted the single camera video, but this still came out pretty good. I want to thank Danny for making this happen- I love the queers’ pop stuff and they play almost none of it nowadays. It was really nice to hear my favorite songs done live.

The Moans- Press Club, Sacramento Ca. 2/7/19 Canon HFG40 HD Master Live

Here’s The Moans’ set from the show on Thursday night. I think these guys are one of the best Ramones-core bands around (not just Sacramento- anywhere). They played a few songs I didn’t recognize, plus some old favorites. The set was TOO Short at 25 minutes! They were being overly considerate with a 5 band bill on a Thursday night, which tells you how cool they are.
Diana Steele- Danny’s shout out to Bobby is at the 12:30 mark. The audio is a bit low between songs.

So the Tough Crowd (more on that later) seemed to like the Moans quite a bit. Some of the “pit dominators” started getting warmed up during their set. They were great as usual- Matt has such a great voice for their sound. I love their slower, melodic songs.

The Moans- Cafe Colonial, Sacramento Ca 10/21/17 LIVE Punk Juggamoans Juggalo

I think that Danny or one of the band members(can’t seem to find it now) summed it up best when they said “being in this band is like trying to top each other with the stupidest ideas we can imagine”. Well, this one was an awesomely stupid idea. It’s the moans in full ICP makeup, ripping through a set of Moans songs. Sorry, no ICP songs- only the look and the soda (Fanta, not Faygo). Filmed with a Canon HFG30 and Rode video pro stereo mic.
