Ramones, DEVO, Long Fin Kille- Lollapalooza, Gorge George Wa. 7/30/96 xfer Hi8 Master tape enhanced

Here’s another amazing gift from Steve Rogers. As I mentioned in earlier posts, Steve worked for American Recordings, which meant he got a level of access that most of us would love to get. In this one, Steve recorded a good amount of Long Fin Kille’s set, then some clips of the Ramones and DEVO. Sweet.

EYEHATEGOD- Arco Arena, Sacramento Ca 7/23/96 Xfer from 8mm Master Enhanced

Here’s another one from Gary Shurtleff’s collection of master recordings (fromthenosebleeds on YT). This has to be the darkest lighting I have ever seen for a band in an arena setting. No fault of Gary’s- the camerawork is good for an arena vid and it sounds great for the time frame. I did my best brightening it up and the denoise worked really well on this one.
If nothing else, just play it as an audio track- the audio is that good.
And look at that young Mike IX! AWWW

Black Crowes- Supper Club, NYC 7/23/96 Soundcheck xfer from hi8 Master Tape Enhanced

In our search for better audio for Steve Rogers’ videos, we found that there was a nice sounding soundboard tape of the Crowes from this date. I asked the taper for the files and he sent them over for synch. Well, it appears that the band played 2 sets that night and the board tape is not this show. Damn, we tried.

Edit: Steve let me know that this is the soundcheck. Mystery Solved.

Pantera- Arco Arena, Sacramento Ca. 7/23/96 xfer from 8mm master tape full show enhanced

Here is another video from Gary Shurtleff (youtube channel fromthenosebleeds), and I think that this is one of the better Pantera show I transferred for him. Great sound (for an arena 1 camera thing) and excellent camera work. This is from a co-headline with White Zombie, a band I will never understand. I tried.

Swindlers and other bands (help)- Unknown Venue, Killeen Tx. 7/19/96 Juni Bravo Archive

Any help identifying these bands & the venue would be appreciated. This is one of 2 tapes with what appear to be parts of this show. JUNI BRAVO ARCHIVE: I bought a bunch of live VHS tapes of Ebay about 6 months ago. I bought them mainly for a Bad Religion Multicam from 1988 that was uncirculated, but I got a while box of VHS tapes. The tapes were intriguing enough for me to try to find out who Juni is- it turns out that she was a Video archivist from the mid- to late-80s based in San Diego & texas. She followed the Exploited on tour in 1988 and produced the “Anarchy in the USA” VHS tape for them. She passed away a couple of years ago and (unbeknownst to me) some guy was selling her stuff off. I decided to post the stuff that was OK to post publicly to be sure Juni got her due, and to let fans of the band see this stuff- there is some gold in here. I also NEED YOUR HELP with some of this stuff. The tapes were poorly labeled so I don’t know who some of the bands are, and I don’t know most of the venues. Any help identifying stuff is appreciated.
