This was my first Cattle Club show. I had been there when it was Club Me and Club Obsession for shows, but this was first time with Jerry and Brian. Guys- was this the first out of town band to play Cattle? These guys are one of my all-time favorite bands. I wish they would play again with Noah singing. “A Mind is a Terrible Thing” is a Top 10 disc. It starts dark, but gets better when I moved at about the 39 minute mark. For the first few months, Cattle had a smaller P.A. which made it easier to film from this “better” spot.

This was a special show- this was The Cattle Club’s first out of town booking. They were only doing shows 4 nights a month (every other thu and sat) at Club Me at that point.
Christ on Parade is one of my all time favorite bands, so it is really nice to dig this cassette out and give it a proper transfer. This was toward the end of the band’s run, so it is really interesting to hear the post- “mind is a terrible thing” songs here. Thanks to anonymous for taping- my video (even though it was done with the same model of mic) does not sound nearly as good.
Thanks to Brian for bringing the out of town bands to Cattle, starting with this show.
And before everyone asks, I don’t have the screeching weasel set.

This show was a huge deal to me. This was the first Cattle Club show I attended, and it was Cattle’s first punk show. It might have been the first out of town booking as well. Christ on Parade is one of my favorite bands of all time, and the “A Mind is a Terrible Thing” album is probably my favorite hardcore album.
So it was a big deal to finally get this video done. The club’s lighting at the time was very dark and blue/red. I brightened and fixed contrast and cleaned it up with Neat. We then took “Anonymous'” Pro Walkman audience recording, enhanced that, and synched it with the video. It is still dark and the audio isn’t perfect, but it is nice to get a final and complete version of this.

This year’s whole earth fest was amazing. What a lineup! I got there late (work) but I managed to catch one of my favorites. Check the beginning of the video when Lint gives me a greeting, one week after op ivy broke up. I was standing on top of a guitar amp in the crowd and came close to getting knocked off multiple times. oh, one last thing. This video suffers from over exposure a bit. It was dusk and Noah wasa wearing white, which wreaked havoc on the old dinosaur camera (Aiwa CV-80 with Sony ECM909 mic)

OK, finally back to it. Expect a bunch of OLD remixed soundboards from the bay area in the next week or so.
The first one is a short one from Eric Mcintire’s collection. It looks like I have a longer version of this show from the old 1980’s tape trading days… so I’ll get that one up someday. CoP were one of my all time favorite bands- happy that so many tapes exist during my favorite “mind is a terrible thing” era.

This tape has been circulated for years as 4/25/87, but looking at some old flyers, it might have been 4/24/87. Can someone ask the pollution circus guys if they remember playing with CoP at the 4/25 show?
Anyway, if you love the “A mind is a Terrible Thing” album n(which is one of the best punk albums of all time), this is the show to listen to. This show takes place right before the album was released, and they even debut “Power” live at this show. The rebalanced version of the show sounds pretty great, especially for an early Gilman soundboard!
I guess what I am saying it that this is a MUST LISTEN.
From Eric Mcintire’s collection. I also have a 30 year old traded tape that I may compare one day… but this one sounds great.
