Here’s the last set I filmed on Sunday- The Ghost Town Rebellion. They have an americana/roots sound and they sing about Sacramento/California history. Pretty cool. This was their bass player’s debut gig- well done!

I had not seen Dan Janisch perform in about 20 years(!)- I’m familiar with his music but have not listened much in years. He was excellent- captivating performance! He has a great voice, great songwriting skills and is a talented player… what’s not to love?
Sorry for the bouncy camera at times- I was a ways back and I was multitasking with family.

After Metalachi at Denio’s, we went downtown to the Chalk it Up fest. I had a sleeping toddler in the car, so my wife stayed with him and my daughter & I went to catch the last 5min of Kepi’s set and Dr. Frank.
I thought that I had focused the camera when I started filming Kepi, but apparently I screwed up (I blame Dad multitasking) so Kepi’s set is all blurry as is the first 10min of Dr. Frank’s set. I finally decide to focus about 2 min into “Deep Deep Down”, which is my favorite song that Frank does acoustic.
Don’t miss Frank (and MTX) and Kepi (with Roy from the muffs and B-face) doing full band sets at the blue lamp on 9/20. I know a lot is going on that night, but you should go… then book it over to Old Ironsides after the show to catch Mike Watt.

I realized that I forgot to post Kevin and Allyson’s set from Chalk it up last week- it was all of the usual staples of their live set. My battery conked out at the end so it cuts off abruptly.
