Dee Dee Ramone- Old Ironsides, Sacramento Ca 12/12/99 transfer from master VHS tape Ramones

Huge props to Ken Doose for getting this one. Out of hundreds of legendary shows at Old I, this was one of the most legendary. Unfortunately, the tape is a bit damaged and it was taped in EP speed (the slowest speed which sacrificed quality). I might take another swing at this one later on with a JVC VCR that is supposed to be the best one for EP playback.

I was not expecting this one to be this good, as far as angle and lighting. It’s really easy to watch. I might also work on the audio on the re-do. I think Ken has a board tape of the set as well.

It’s only about 30min and cuts off.

Ramones, DEVO, Long Fin Kille- Lollapalooza, Gorge George Wa. 7/30/96 xfer Hi8 Master tape enhanced

Here’s another amazing gift from Steve Rogers. As I mentioned in earlier posts, Steve worked for American Recordings, which meant he got a level of access that most of us would love to get. In this one, Steve recorded a good amount of Long Fin Kille’s set, then some clips of the Ramones and DEVO. Sweet.

Ramones- El Dorado Saloon, Sacramento Ca. 9/14/86 Audio Recording xfer from master or 1st gen

My friend Agelos asked me to start transferring some of the old cassettes in the archive for him, so I decided to post the ones that are significant to Sacramento or Bay Area. Here is a Ramones tape from el dorado. Picture courtesy of John Muheim, recorded by Mark Martin. This is from the master or 1st gen tape. Recorded with a consumer panasonic recorder- this is by no means professional quality! I hope you can still enjoy it, despite the flaws.
