Flipper- Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco 12/30/21 4k UHD Multicam with Matrix Audio David Yow

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Sam Habash (theehapyone on YT) for editing this one together for me. I have a 4k editing setup ready to go, but I just can’t find the time to get these done. Sam offered to help out on this one. Thanks.
Funny thing about this show- I was setting up my cameras and Steve Depace asks me what I am doing. I try to tell him (through a mask) that I got permission from him in a facebook message. Hilarity ensued with me trying to yell through the mask “I AM SHAYNE! SHAAAYNE!!”. It all worked out but it was funny. Thanks again Steve!

Flipper- Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco 12/30/21 4K UHD Complete Show David Yow

Finally, here is the makeup post for the one I missed on NYE. There will also be a normal Monday audio post in addition to this. This took a while to process to 4K. I filmed with 4 4k cameras (and pulled a board mix), but this angle is the only complete one. The gopros conked out before the end of the set. I will get them edited together as soon as I can.
Bottom of the Hill is not an easy place to film. My monopod was on a barstool which had a swivel, so that’s why you sometimes see a little back-and-forth movement for no reason. Also, the lighting on the stage was super uneven. Rachel, Ted and Steve are in low light and Yow was well lit. When he would walk to the stage lip, he was lit way too much. I set exposure to at least see the other 3, but it overexposes when yow comes way up front. Not much else I could do.

Mike Watt and the Missingmen- Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco 12/30/21 4K UHD The Minutemen

Brian McKenna and I came from Sac for this show. We left at 5 and we hit a couple of places on the way there, thinking we had plenty of time to get to B.O.T.H. to see Watt. We pulled up to the club at 8:55, and after the temp check, ID check and Vax check, Watt was already on stage- they were so good (and sounded so good), it was a bit shocking. I have seen Watt so many times over the years and this was probably one of the best, if not the best, performances I have ever seen. Still kicking ass at 64 years old. Well done!

Foo Fighters- Golden 1 Center, Sacramento 12/7/21 4k UHD Video w/Multichannel Soundboard Audio

I did not go to the Foo Fighters show last night. I was home with the kids. Jason Johnson was there and he filmed a couple of songs! Not only that, but “hoserama” also provided multitrack soundboard audio that sounds really nice, even before he has had time to mix it down.
