It’s a bit embarrassing when the bass player of one of your favorite bands points out that you still need to post something. I thought that I had posted this one years ago!
This show was insane. The Faction had not played Sacramento since 1984, and of course I became a fan in 1985. This was my first time ever seeing them. It seems like the crowd was just as excited to see them. This was during the time that I was using a Roland MX-5 4 channel battery powered mixer to remix the soundboard feed live to DAT. I would use these comically oversized Radio Shack Nova Pro headphones to try to hear the mix over the band. That’s why this one is low on drums- they were bleeding into what I was hearing. It improves after about 10min.
There was no place for me to be in the club with this mixer so I tried to camp on top of the dessert cooler but it was rolling all over the place due to the pit and general show chaos. Everyone went so nuts at this show that they knocked the front door off the hinges. It was either this show or the TSOL show from the year before. Memories are blurring.
